PlayStation Plus has become a highly competitive subscription gaming service, going head-to-head with rival services like Xbox Game Pass by offering up continual benefits and regular free content. And PS Plus gamers are getting a huge freebie this January to kick the year off right.
In a massive The Elder Scrolls Online update (via Reddit), PlayStation Plus subscribers will officially have access to all seasonal content at no additional cost. The Elder Scrolls Online was already included as a free game for PS Plus Extra subscribers, but will now include all additional content when the new seasonal model kicks off in April.
The Elder Scrolls Online is set to change up its approach in April of this year with a rolling three-month "Season" model, releasing new seasonal content throughout the year. While the additional content is not available yet, PlayStation Plus members will be able to access all new and existing seasonal content.
According to an Elder Scrolls Online announcement on their official website, "all new gameplay content included in a Season, be it a new zone, dungeon, storyline, system, class, or skill line, will be free for all base-game players." Season Zero is the first official ESO season and kicks off on April 2 and running through July 8, and it will include a ton of new content, including the following:
- The Night Market Event Zone
- The first wave of player experience improvements
- The first wave of class and combat refresh improvements
- The introduction of Tamriel Tomes with the Tome of Dawn and Dusk
- The introduction of the Gold Coast Bazaar
Future seasons will continue to introduce similar improvements, events, and additional locations, and all will be available for free to PlayStation Plus Extra members, as well as Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
That's Loads Of New Content For PS Plus Gamers
PS Plus players can also expect some massive changes in The Elder Scrolls Online beyond additional content, with overhauls to the "core combat experience" planned, as well as massive player experience improvements that are sure to change gameplay significantly.

Players can look forward to a "new Thieves Guild questline, the return of Sheogorath, a new end-game Trial, solo dungeons," and more.
