Cozy games have been popular for a long while, dating back to the retro era. But in recent years, they've exploded in popularity, in part due to the rise of games like Stardew Valley. Now, you can even find them on game catalog services like PlayStation Plus.

Over on the PSN, you can find a massive 100+ hour game to play right now, if you need something to dig into. Don't worry, it's extremely cozy, so that time will fly by.

PlayStation Plus Has A Huge Farming Sim Available Now

There's A Lot To Do

Story of Seasons Crop Growing

Over on PlayStation Plus, you can pick up Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life for free if you're at the Extra tier or higher. Itself a remake of Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life from 2003, the Story of Seasons franchise once again brings back a classic farming/life-simulation entry that helped propel the genre.

Here's the full rundown from studio Marvelous Inc: "Put down roots on your new farm in the peaceful town of Forgotten Valley. Forge precious memories as you weave your own generation-spanning tale of friendship, family, and farming. Bring life to the land by cultivating crops and raising animals, find love among the town's friendly folk, and make lasting memories with a family of your very own in this reimagining of a beloved farming classic."

It's much more than just a farming simulator. In addition to growing crops and raising animals, you'll also explore the Forgotten Valley, befriend people who live there, meet nature sprites, or get married and have kids. At this point, with bug fixes and patches, it has a "mostly positive" rating on Steam. If you're interested and get into the game, there are a few free costume add-ons available.

There's Over 100 Hours To Get Stuck Into

If You Go For Everything

Story of Seasons Cow Grooming

Cozy games are often massive, and Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life is no exception. The remake adds more content, like extra marriage candidates, animals, and seasonal events on top, to the point where you could spend 100 hours doing absolutely everything for a completionist playthrough.

One huge element of A Wonderful Life is the ability to crossbreed crops. You can experiment for lengthy periods of time crafting the best possible yield, and that's just from a puzzle/scientific standpoint. The cast of characters is also pretty wholesome, which could influence you to befriend as many of them as possible. It's easy to get sucked in.

If you're not into 100+ hour games, you may want to check out some of the shorter offerings on PlayStation Plus. There's something for everyone in the now expanded Game Catalog, so don't worry if a massive simulator like this is scaring you off.
