PlayStation Plus is an incredibly popular subscription gaming service that offers players enormous value, with monthly free games and unique features like Game Trials and a massive catalog of titles. However, one catch with PS Plus is its rotating catalog, with new games constantly being added—and removed—at various points throughout the year.
PS Plus subscribers are marking their calendars for January 20 (via Reddit), with a wave of games expected to be removed from the catalog. While the list is relatively short now and includes just four games, members anticipate further de-listings in the coming days.
PlayStation Plus Gamers, Be Aware Of January 20
As part of PlayStation Plus's rotating catalog of games, players have come to expect certain titles to be removed throughout the year. January 20's list of games is short, but still disappointing nonetheless. PlayStation Plus subscribers have until January 20 to play the following games:
- Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased Time
- Monopoly Plus
- Sayonara Wild Hearts
- SD Gundam Battle Alliance
The list of games leaving the service soon can be found easily on PS4 and PS5 consoles by navigating to the Last Chance to Play option under the Collections tab. The Man Who Erased His Name is an extremely popular entry in the Like a Dragon series, and fans of Yakuza: Like a Dragon will definitely want to check this out before it leaves in a few weeks if they haven't already.
Further, as Shoazo and many others note, "it's time to give Sayonara Wild Hearts a try" before the critically acclaimed rhythm-action game is removed from the catalog.
More Games Are Sure To Be Leaving
Custom Image by Austin King. While the January 20 list isn't that bad at the moment, players expect it to grow in the coming days based on the way things have gone in the past for PS Plus de-listing dates. You'll want to check the Last Chance to Play list regularly to see any last-minute additions, though PS Plus has typically given ample notice for more popular games that are being removed.
PS Plus games that are taken off the catalog will no longer be available to play unless gamers purchase them outright from the PlayStation store (assuming the games are not being delisted from PlayStation altogether, which isn't common). While it's disappointing that games are being constantly removed, PS Plus subscribers also get brand-new titles on a regular basis, including free monthly games.
Overall, PlayStation Plus users will want to play the above titles while they still can before January 20, especially if these are games that have been sitting in your backlog for a while now.
