Elemental was one of Pixar’s biggest films of the last few years, and its impact is still carrying into 2023 years after it left theaters. There were some doubts after the opening weekend on whether Elemental was going to be a success, especially after it opened with less than $30 million, but the film put on an impressive display of longevity on its way to grossing nearly $500 million globally. The animated adventure follows Ember (Leah Lewis) and Wade (Mamoudou Athie), Fire and Water elementals who live in a city where all the elements have learned to live together. It’s a beautiful story of found family and acceptance.

Are They Making Another ‘Elemental’ Movie?

Elemental 2 has yet to be announced by Disney or Pixar, but as successful as the first film was in 2023, it’s hard to believe the studio isn’t at least kicking the tires on a potential sequel. Disney has a history of sometimes waiting years to officially announce a sequel, so it wouldn’t be all that shocking if Elemental 2 was announced sometime in the next few years. Still, it’s unlikely the film, if it even comes to fruition, will be on the big screen anytime before 2028.
