Jennifer is a TV News Editor at ScreenRant. She started her journey in entertainment media in 2022 when she first joined Valnet at CBR before coming to ScreenRant.
Jennifer loves TV, especially science fiction. She also loves late-night talk shows, due to her insomnia. Alien: Earth is definitely one of her favorite shows, and she jumps on any chance she gets to write about it. Even on her days off, she will claim an Alien Earth article if one is available.
Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon are two of her favorite late-night hosts, and Conan O'Brien before he left his show.
Her Alien: Earth coverage for Screen Rant is by far the work that she is most proud of so far.
She began her career as an editor in 2014. She was initially a finance editor, but her passion for pop culture convinced her to transition into entertainment journalism.
During her off time, she loves to binge-watch cooking shows such as Kitchen Nightmares. Jennifer also loves spending time with her daughter and cherishes every moment of it.
Outlander star, Sam Heughan, revealed that he and the cast are just as in the dark as the show's fans are when it comes to the series finale, even though filming wrapped quite awhile ago.
Filming for Outlander season 8 concluded in September 2024. However, in an interview with People, Heughan explained that details about the finale are still shrouded in mystery, even for the cast, who are clearly a huge part of the production process. This seems super strange, but for now, the actors, just like the show's audience, must wait and see how the epic drama series will end.
We don't really know how it ends. We kind of know, but we shall see in the edit ourselves.
According to Outlander showrunner Matthew B. Roberts, season 8 will raise the stakes for its characters. He also mentioned that he wanted to do the series justice and please its fans by giving them what they want. The final chapter will continue exploring Jamie (Heughan) and Claire's (Caitríona Balfe) love story and reveal how the Revolutionary War is impacting Fraser’s Ridge.
The upcoming season arrives a year after the shocking finale of season 7, which suggested that Jane (Silvia Presente) and Fanny (Florrie Wilkinson) may be the children of Jamie and Claire's daughter, Faith, despite them initially believing she was deceased. This twist would add even more tension to the story as the series nears its end.
Outlander is an adaptation of author Diana Gabaldon’s book series, which follows a nurse from World War II who travels back to the 18th century and falls in love with a Highlander. While the show is ending, Gabaldon has yet to complete the tenth and final book in the series, meaning the television adaptation will conclude the story independently and most likely, differently than the source material.
Heughan stated that he really hoped that Outlander's loyal viewers would enjoy the finale. He added that they were in a very odd position where the TV show was ending before the final book comes out, so there is no way of knowing whether they're on the mark with what the author wanted or if they completely go in the opposite direction. Either way, the actor hopes that he and the creative team did the story justice.
I hope [viewers] feel we have done justice to the characters and to the story and to the fans. You know, it's hard. How do you finish a show like that? Obviously, we didn't finish the books. We had to finish our show, so it is a departure from the books in some ways, but for us it was rewarding, and we wanted to finish it right.
Outlander season 8 will premiere on March 6, 2026, on Starz.
