Meta has named Dina Powell McCormick, the former Deputy National Security Advisor to President Donald Trump, as President and Vice Chair.

Meta, the parent of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and a growing AI powerhouse, said McCormick “will help guide its overall strategy and execution, partner with the computer and infrastructure teams to ensure our multi-billion dollar investments, execute against our goals and drive positive economic impact in the communities where we operate around the world.”

The executive “will drive an effort to build new strategic capital partnerships and find innovative ways to expand our long-term investment strategy,” Meta added.

In 2024, the company named UFC CEO Dana White to its board of directors. White is close to Donald Trump — introducing him at the Republican National Convention last year — at a time when tech titans have been cozying up to the president (then president elect). Trump and the UFC will be hosting a mixed martial arts fight in a specially built octagon at the White House next July 4 in honor of America’s 250th anniversary.

McCormick previously served at Goldman Sachs as a partner in senior leadership roles, and as Senior White House Advisor and Assistant Secretary of State Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice under President  George W. Bush. Most recently, she was Vice Chair and Head of Global Client Services at BDT & MSD Partners.
