Since 2019, Kevin Erdmann has been one of Screen Rant's Senior Staff Writers, covering all kinds of Superhero and Star Wars media with Easter egg breakdowns, theory pieces, breaking news, and more. A huge Star Wars & MCU fan, Kevin also loves Batman (because he's Batman), but could talk for hours about why Nightwing is DC's greatest hero.

With 8 years of total experience covering entertainment and pop culture, Kevin has gotten the chance to interview top creatives and talent, and has also attended major media events like Disney's D23 convention.

Majoring in Cinema Studies with a minor in Comics and Cartoon Studies from the UofO, Kevin lives in Oregon with his wonderful wife, adorable dog, and sinister cat who is no doubt currently plotting his demise.

The Predator franchise's next story promises to be all kinds of brutal. Following the recent release of Predator: Badlands in theaters, it appears that Marvel Comics is looking to up the ante when it comes to showcasing the lethal reputation of the Yautja.

Without a doubt, the Predator franchise has been thriving across media. Between recent screen success and ambitious comics, the franchise has had renewed energy in the past few years, and that couldn't be more evident than with the upcoming series announcement for Predator: Bloodshed.

Marvel's Predator: Bloodshed Releases In February

Marvel’s Predator: Bloodshed arrives on February 25th, coming from writer Jordan Morris with art by Roland Boschi and Ruairi Coleman. Rather than the remote hunts in the wild as we've typically seen, the official synopsis for the upcoming Predator series teases a whole new kind of battlefield with a Yautja warrior entering a violent, high-stakes tournament on Earth:

“In the near future, Earth's fiercest fighters have gathered for an underground martial arts tournament organized by a shadowy organization. But all hell breaks loose when an unexpected combatant enters the ring: an alien PREDATOR!

Now the champions are battling not just for the grand prize, but for their very lives! Can a disparate group of competitors band together in time to survive the extraterrestrial hunter?! Choose your fighter, place your bets, and brace yourselves for a bloody tournament unlike any other!”

Putting a Predator into a combat arena feels like it will be a unique deviation from the franchise’s usual formula, just like we saw with Predator: Badlands which had a Yautja as the leading protagonist. Likewise, a Yautja warrior looking to test himself against an extremely deadly collective of humans one after the other makes perfect sense, practically guaranteeing an incredibly bloody time ahead.

The Predator Franchise Is Killing It Right Now (On The Screen And The Page)

Predator: Badlands proved the franchise still has box office power, earning strong reviews and commercial success, becoming the highest-grossing film in the Predator franchise thus far.

On the page, Marvel’s various crossover comics like the recently concluded Predator Kills the Marvel Universe have also been vastly entertaining. After all, who doesn't want to see a bunch of Predators taking on Wolverine, Spider-Man, Iron Man, and more iconic heroes?

Following these popular successes for the franchise, the premise for Predator: Bloodshed sounds super fun and all kinds of brutal, and it will be exciting to learn more about this latest Predator story the closer we get to its release next month.

Predator: Bloodshed #1 releases February 25th from Marvel Comics.
