Avengers: Doomsday will see the Fox-Marvel era celebrated once again in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as multiple iconic mutants are taking part in the war against Doctor Doom. With 2026 underway, the world is getting closer to seeing the MCU timeline finally have the Avengers back in the spotlight.

After being screened in front of Avatar: Fire and Ash, Marvel Studios has finally released the Avengers: Doomsday trailer with the X-Men characters. Check it out below:

The footage features the first look at Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Patrick Stewart as Magneto and Professor X. However, the Avengers: Doomsday trailer also highlights James Marsden's return as Cyclops, now donning a more faithful costume from the comics.

The upcoming MCU movie will also feature Mystique and Nightcrawler from the original X-Men films, with Rebecca Romijn and Alan Cumming reprising their roles. After making his MCU debut as Gambit in 2024's Deadpool & Wolverine, Channing Tatum will also be back as the X-Men hero Gambit.

The first Avengers: Doomsday trailer focused on Chris Evans' confirmed return as Steve Rogers, with the original Captain America set to be part of the Phase 6 entry. The footage revealed that Steve ended up having a son with Peggy Carter, before revealing that he will make his comeback to the franchise.

The second Avengers: Doomsday teaser highlighted Chris Hemsworth's Thor, with the beloved Avenger praying to Odin, while also focusing on his wish to be able to return to his daughter, Love. With the X-Men footage released, a fourth trailer is set to be shown this week in front of Avatar: Fire and Ash.

Even though filming wrapped in September 2025, the Avengers: Doomsday cast will be doing additional photography this spring. Filming is set to begin on Avengers: Secret Wars this summer, with Marvel Studios having scheduled the Phase 6 film for December 17, 2027.

Avengers: Doomsday opens on December 18.
