EXCLUSIVE: Lynne Ramsay, the BAFTA and Cannes prize-winning writer, director, and producer, has signed with CAA amid the awards campaign for Die, My Love — her latest film, starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson.

An adaptation of the 2012 novel by Ariana Harwicz, Die, My Love premiered to critical acclaim at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival and earned Lawrence a Golden Globe nomination. The film centers on a new mother (Lawrence) who watches as both her loveless marriage and her reality as a whole unravel in rural Montana. Mubi released it in the U.S. in early November.

One of today’s preeminent filmmakers, Ramsay previously wrote and directed the thriller You Were Never Really Here, starring Joaquin Phoenix, which premiered in competition at Cannes, where Ramsay won Best Screenplay and Phoenix received Best Actor.

Earlier works from the Scot include We Need To Talk About Kevin, starring Tilda Swinton, which premiered in competition at Cannes, as well as Ratcatcher and Morvern Callar, the latter of which won the BAFTA Award for Best Film Not in the English Language.

Like You Were Never Really Here, Ramsay’s short films Small Deaths, Gasman, and Swimmer received major prizes at Cannes. The filmmaker continues to be managed by Josh Varney at 42.
