Leonardo DiCaprio Has the Perfect Reaction to Teyana Taylor Calling Him “Pops”

While Leonardo DiCaprio has spent time on one set after another, his latest experience has really stuck out.

On the red carpet at the 2026 Golden Globes on Jan. 11, the One Battle After Another actor reflected on how the movie’s writer-director Paul Thomas Anderson created a unique atmosphere on set.

“What’s really incredible about getting to work with Paul Thomas Anderson is he loves controlled chaos,” Leonardo told Entertainment Tonight. “He did a lot of scouting for the film, so we went to these real locations and worked with people from the community. When we’d go to a grocery store, it was a fully running family business.”

According to the 51-year-old, whose portrayal of retired radical Bob Ferguson earned him one of the film’s nine nominations at the ceremony, this realism created a dynamic that went beyond the script.

“It got us as actors to be leaders and bring them along in the process of the storytelling,” he explained. “It was a lot of fun.”

Indeed, several award shows have praised the film’s satirical whimsy since it was released last September. At the Globes, One Battle After Another picked up Best Motion Picture while Paul—who was joined by partner of 24 years Maya Rudolph in the audience—took home Best Director and Best Screenplay. Teyana Taylor also scored her first Globes trophy, winning Best Performance for her role as Perfidia Beverly Hills. (For all of the stars who won their nominations, click here.)

And true to their chemistry, the Titanic alum gave his costar her flowers.

“She’s incredible,” Leonardo expressed in the interview. “Everyone that Paul cast in this film did an incredible job, from Teyana and Regina [Hall] to Chase Infiniti. I’m just so proud to be a part of this film.”

This isn’t the first time he’s cheered Teyana—who shares daughters Iman, 9, and Rue, 5, with ex-husband Iman Shumpert—on from the sidelines, as he previously admitted he loved exploring his character with her.

“She’s got the best sense of humor,” Leonardo told E! News in September. “I knew when she was brought into this movie, I was like, ‘This girl is gonna bring the heat.’ And she did. She’s an amazing hang. She’s awesome.”

While the One Battle After Another cast showed out on the red carpet, they were just some of the stars who brought their fashion A-game to the Beverly Hilton. Keep reading to see all the looks from the Golden Globes…
