Laura Woods revealed she is undergoing treatment for a facial scar that left her feeling 'very conscious' and 'struggling with her confidence.'

The TNT Sports presenter, 38, suffered a horrific eye injury and was rushed to hospital in London for emergency plastic surgery while on a romantic getaway with her fiancé Adam Collard in 2024.

Sharing an update to her Instagram Story on Tuesday, Laura said: 'Even though it's a million times better than it was I'm still very conscious of it.'

She was seen applying a cold roller to the scar above her eyebrow before going for laser treatment.

Responding to a follower's question about her confidence, she wrote: 'Yeah definitely (I have lost confidence). I can see the scars in photos, when I smile, frown etc.

'Having a baby took my mind off it though. As well as remembering to eat and brush my teeth haha.'

Laura described the laser as 'painful and expensive' and said while it left her 'looking like she had been in a toaster' she was hoping to see improvements with her skin.

She added: 'Trying a big f laser to see if I can help the appearance of the scars. So if you have any scars and want to ask any questions, fire away.

'You can localise the scar if you want, but the skin will be different to the rest of your face. And full disclosure - it was painfulllll.

'It's also expensive. I look like I was put in a toaster, but I'm hoping it's all worth it.'

Laura had been enjoying a trip with the Love Island star in May 2024 when a freak accident left her needing emergency surgery.

The broadcaster said that while attempting to throw a pillow at Adam, she struck a light shade, which cracked on the roof and 'came down' on her head and back.

She was rushed to hospital and forced to pull out of covering Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk a few days later, before driving some five hours to London for plastic surgery.

Laura hadn't opened up on the terrifying ordeal but now, some 18 months later, the mother-of-one has shared a handful of gruesome images of her injuries.

The first, captioned 'a very bad day, these cuts ended up going down to the bone', showed Woods with a serious gash above and beneath her eye.

Laura, who also fronts Amazon Prime's Champions League coverage, shared post-surgery snaps, which showed her nursing scars around her face covered by bandages.

She also suffered wounds to the back of her arms. One picture displayed Woods bleeding from her right elbow, with the caption: 'The back of my arm was a bit of a mess too, but I can't see that bit.'

Laura has since undergone 'lots of red light therapy' in an attempt to restore her face to its pre-injury state, though she admitted that she went through 'an ugly phase where the scars seem like they're regressing'.

She light-heartedly dubbed that period the 'Bear Grylls stage'.

It was however in the aftermath of the accident that Woods and Collard discovered they were expecting their child together, meaning she had to 'stop treatment and focus on the little person'.

That little person, baby Leo, was born in January 2025, and Woods admitted that she is now doing much better, despite losing some of her confidence.

Collard, known for his controversial stints on Love Island and then Celebrity SAS, and Woods went public with their relationship after they began dating October 2023.

They got engaged in September 2024 after the 30-year-old proposed on a beach in St Ives, Cornwall.
