Wedding bells might be a long way off, but Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet's respective mothers have already bonded over the young couple - much to the delight of their social media followers.

Chalamet's march towards a potential first Academy Award continued on January 5 when he was named Best Actor at the 31st Critics Choice Awards for his starring role in Josh Safdie's critically acclaimed Marty Supreme.

And having beaten the much fancied Leonardo DiCaprio, currently making waves of his own courtesy of Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another, his proud mother promptly expressed her delight on Instagram.

Resharing the moment Kate Hudson announced his name at Santa Monica's Barker Hangar, an astonished Nicole Flender wrote: 'My son just won the Critics Choice Award for best actor!!'

The post earned an immediate like from Chalamet's long-term girlfriend, who joined him on the night.

But it was the TV personality's mother Kris Jenner, who attracted attention by responding to Flender's post, adding: 'So exciting!!!!!!!'

The interaction sparked a flurry of likes from followers, with one commenting: 'the mother in laws are besties.'

Chalamet, 30, provided one of the biggest headlines of the night at the Critics Choice Awards by referencing his girlfriend during his acceptance speech.

After thanking director Safdie, he said: 'And lastly, I'll just say, thank you to my partner of three years. Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn't do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much.'

Seated in the audience, Jenner, 28, could be seen mouthing: 'I love you, too.'

Earlier this month the couple subtly put their long-standing no-social-media boundary to the test after Jenner supported Chalamet at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, where he was honored for Marty Supreme.

Following the ceremony, she shared photos of her Marty Supreme-inspired look on Instagram, showing off an orange sequined Ludovic de Saint Sernin gown.

Chalamet responded in kind by 'liking' the post and leaving several orange heart emojis in the comments.

The interaction marked the first time the couple had publicly commented on one another's social media accounts. Until then, they had only exchanged discreet likes.

The Marty Supreme actor later celebrated his second Best Actor win at the Golden Globes on January 11 by sharing a number of Instagram posts, one of which featuring his billionaire girlfriend's hand.

The photo showed the Oscar nominee - who walked the red carpet alone - posing with the coveted award, which rested in Jenner's manicured hand.

It was the first time he'd acknowledged his girlfriend on his social media account.

Chalamet started dating Jenner in 2023, shortly after her split with rapper Travis Scott - the father of her two children, Stormi, 7, and Aire, 4.

The TV personality has previously dated Australian singer Cody Simpson, actor Jaden Smith, Justin Bieber, rapper Tyga and PartyNextDoor.

Chalamet's ex-girlfriends include Lily-Rose Depp, Extrapolations actress Eiza González and Madonna's eldest daughter, Lourdes Ciccone Leon.
