It may be a new year, but that doesn't mean we still aren't blasting the KPop Demon Hunters' soundtrack whenever possible. We've all got our favorites, from Saja Boys' sickeningly sweet "Soda Pop" to the touching "Free," but none have quite stolen the world's heart as much as Huntr/x's "Golden." It's not hard to see why. The song is undeniably catchy and beloved by even the film's most casual fans. Small wonder then that it even won Best Song at the Critics' Choice Awards.

Yet even with "Golden" being so popular, nobody could have predicted that the song would receive a sequel before Netflix and Sony Animation gave us a KPop Demon Hunters 2.

Ejae (Rumi), Audrey Nuna (Mira), and Rei Ami (Zoey), the fantastic singers behind KPop Demon Hunters' fictional K-pop band Huntr/x, took to the stage on Jimmy Kimmel this Thursday to perform a special version of "Golden," which was released on Spotify soon after. Awash with golden and white light, and accompanied by a live band, the trio gave a Honmoon-worthy performance.

It's far from the first time the band has performed their smash-hit song. Huntr/x have also performed the song on Jimmy Fallon and at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. However, unlike the aforementioned performances, "Golden (Glowin' Version)" has some key differences. It's a much softer, melodic performance, and the harmonies shared between Ejae, Nuna, and Ami feel far more distinct and almost ethereal.

While we don't doubt some fans will be disappointed that Huntr/x aren't singing more songs from the soundtrack, it makes sense from an awards-season perspective — "Golden" is the song that's been nominated. After all, why fix what ain't broke when it's a song that's so widely regarded — even by its own lead singer — as a hit?

Besides, it will make the inevitable performance of "This Is What It Sounds Like" and other songs from the soundtrack taste all the sweeter.
