Comedy favorite Jonah Hill is set to deliver not one but two directorial efforts in 2026. The first, Cut Off, follows "two wealthy siblings are forced to support themselves after their parents cut them off," and stars Kristen Wiig and Bette Midler. The second, a project titled Outcome that was picked up by Apple TV back in 2023, marks the return of Keanu Reeves' funny side, with co-star Roy Wood Jr. saying, "I can say that it is an extremely funny film, but to see Keanu Reeves, I don't think he does one karate punch in the whole film. Yeah, proper comedic Keanu Reeves is back."
Ahead of Reeves' upcoming comedy, his fan-favorite comic book movie is back in the streaming charts. At the time of writing, Constantine, the 2005 DC adaptation, is one of the ten most-streamed movies on HBO Max, making an instant splash having only just arrived on the platform. Directed by Francis Lawrence, the film is a quintessential cult classic, having been relatively panned by critics but picked up and adored by fans for the next two decades. Rumors about a sequel to the film continue to fly, with Reeves himself recently commenting on such a prospect, saying, "Fingers crossed. Another draft of the script came in. We’re waiting. We’re gonna take it to the studio and hopefully they like it too." For anyone yet to see Constantine, a synopsis reads:
"As a suicide survivor, demon hunter John Constantine (Keanu Reeves) has literally been to hell and back -- and he knows that when he dies, he's got a one-way ticket to Satan's realm unless he can earn enough goodwill to climb God's stairway to heaven. While helping policewoman Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz) investigate her identical twin's apparent suicide, Constantine becomes caught up in a supernatural plot involving both demonic and angelic forces."
Did 'Constantine' Perform Well at the Box Office?
To triple one's reported budget is a feat most movies can consider successful. This is exactly what Constantine did during its theatrical run, turning a reported $75 million production budget into a cool $221 million worldwide. Split between a domestic haul of $76 million and a further $145 million from overseas markets, the film finished 15th in the list of highest-grossing titles first released in 2005, with the film's subsequent cult status sure to propel any potential sequel to even higher heights.
Constantine is streaming on HBO Max. Stay tuned to Collider for more streaming stories.
