Best Golden Globes Fashion Moments Ever: Nicole Kidman, Zendaya & More

Joe Keery has waved goodbye to Stranger Things.

But where there’s an end, there’s also a beginning. And the 33-year-old looked like he’s ready for all that’s going to come his way while walking the red carpet at the 2026 Golden Globes. (See every star here.)

For the occasion, Joe arrived in a simple suit, with black trousers and a white blazer—letting his newly transformed blonde locks speak for themselves. But while his hair is shorter and lighter than it was when he played Steve “The Hair” Harrington, he still channeled his character’s effortless charm as he smiled at photographers.

Stranger Things' final season—which came to a close at the end of 2025—may not have earned any nods at the 2026 Golden Globes, but the cast and crew of the Netflix series couldn't be prouder of the final result.

And for Joe, as he looks back on the decade he spent working on the hit Netflix show, he knows a project is only as strong as the many hands it takes to bring to life.

“Somebody said there were 8,000 people that worked on this show,” he told Jimmy Fallon during a Nov. 27 appearance on The Tonight Show. “You associate the actors with the show and with the characters, obviously, but it truly is just a testament to the massive group of people that put their lives into this thing.”

One element from the show the “End of Beginning” artist is particularly proud of the arc his character underwent across five seasons, going from the arrogant, often dismissive popular kid to an earnest—if not still sometimes arrogant—team player.

“The thing I loved about the character, and loved that they gave me, is that he kind of has a change of heart and realizes the error in his ways,” Joe explained. “And I think right now there's kind of a lot of opportunity for that, for people to sort of choose to do the right thing.”

After all, he added, “The show is about a group of outcasts that come together and, you can be from all walks of life. But I just love that the character kind of makes that choice.”

And as he looks to the future, Steve will always be with him. As he put it, “It was just a real pleasure to play for 10 years.”
