Casting directors from “Jay Kelly,” “Wicked: For Good” and “Hamnet” are among those leading the Casting Society nominations.
The 41st Annual Artios Awards will be held on Feb. 26 across three cities. “What We Do in the Shadows” actor Harvey Guillén is set to host at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, with Jeff Hiller from “Somebody Somewhere” pegged to host at the Edison Ballroom in New York City. “Baby Reindeer” star Jessica Gunning will host the London Ceremony at One Moorgate Place.
Casting directors with multiple nominations include Douglas Aibel (“Jay Kelly,” “Materialists,” and “The Phoenician Scheme”), Nina Gold (“Jay Kelly” and “Hamnet”), Bernard Telsey (“Wicked: For Good” and “Plainclothes”) and Jennifer Venditti (“Bugonia” and “Marty Supreme”).
Variety previously spoke with many of the nominated casting directors to discuss their process.
“As we celebrate the 41st Annual Artios Awards, we are excited to announce Harvey, Jeff, and Jessica as the hosts for our global ceremonies,” said Destiny Lilly, President of CSA. “Their humor, artistry, and energetic spirit set the stage for memorable evenings that showcase the best of our community.”
The Casting Society also announced its list of honorees for the Artios Awards. The Lynn Stalmaster Award for Career Achievement will be presented to Ayo Davis, the president of Disney Branded Television, while the Marion Dougherty New York Apple Award will be presented to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Emmy-nominated and seven-time Artios Awards-winning casting director Julie Ashton will receive the Hoyt Bowers Award for excellence in casting, with the Rosalie Joseph Humanitarian Award being presented to former CSA administrator Laura Adler.
Additionally, the Capelier-Shaw Award for Excellence in Casting will be awarded to casting director Kate Rhodes James. GAP Workshops, a free-of-charge professional development program created to support and advance trans actors, will receive the Global Impact Award. The Los Angeles Associate Spotlight Award will be presented to casting professional Leslie Wasserman, while the New York Associate Spotlight Award will be presented to Artios award-winning associate casting director Dustin Presley.
Last year, the nominations for TV were announced with Lucy Bevan (“Bridget Jones Mad About The Boy,” “Disclaimer”), Gold (“Bad Sisters,” “Slow Horses,” “Day of the Jackal”) and Telsey (“Only Murders In The Building,” “Monsters: The Lyle And Erik Menendez Story” and “Sh!t. Meet. Fan) all landing multiple nods.
