Jason Statham’s next movie will arrive in theaters in just a few weeks, but another one of Statham’s upcoming films just got an exciting update and new look. Statham will reprise his role as Adam Clay in The Beekeeper 2, that action sequel that wrapped filming near the end of last year. Director Timo Tjahjanto has taken to his personal Instagram account to share a new photo of himself and Statham behind the scenes from production, and he also confirmed that The Beekeeper 2 will be released before the end of this year. This was heavily speculated, but now officially confirmed.

Plot details about The Beekeeper 2 are currently being kept under wraps, but if it’s anything like the original, fans are in for yet another riveting adventure starring legendary action star Jason Statham. The only returning veteran from The Beekeeper to star in its sequel is Jeremy Irons, but quite a few big stars are filling out the rest of the call sheet. One of the most exciting names to join the cast of The Beekeeper 2 was Pom Klementieff, the MCU veteran who also starred in a pair of Mission: Impossible movies. Former WWE star and Percy Jackson icon Adam Copeland, or Edge, will also star in The Beekeeper 2.

Jason Statham fans have a lot to look forward to before The Beekeeper 2 hits theaters, though. In just a few weeks, Statham will star in Shelter, the action thriller from Greenland director Ric Roman Waugh. Later this year, he’ll be seen in another action thriller, Mutiny, which will arrive in August. The film is directed by Jean François-Richet, who directed another Gerard Butler actioner, Plane.

Is Jason Statham in the Next Fast & Furious Movie?

All signs point to Jason Statham reprising his role as Deckard Shaw in the eleventh and final Fast & Furious movie, which is expected to begin production early this year. Statham briefly returned in a small role in Fast X that alluded to him starring in a larger capacity in Fast 11. He teamed up with The Rock seven years ago for the first F&F spin-off film, Hobbs & Shaw, which had a profound run of streaming success last summer on Netflix. Dwayne Johnson is also expected to return as Luke Hobbs in Fast 11 after returning in the Fast X post-credits scene.

Check out The Beekeeper on Prime Video and stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of The Beekeeper 2.
