Colleen Hoover, author and producer of It Ends with Us and Regretting You, has revealed she has undergone treatment for cancer.

In a post shared on social media, Hoover said she had one day of radiation left to treat the cancer.

“Second to last day of radiation,” read the Instagram Stories post the author shared. “I wish I could blame my hair and facial expressions on @Texas.Oncology, but they’ve been great. Hope you never need them, but highly recommend them.”

It was in December when Hoover opened up in a Facebook post that she had been diagnosed with cancer, but did not share what type of cancer it was. The film producer also noted that she would need radiation, but not chemotherapy.

Hoover had alluded to health setbacks that would keep her from doing promo for Regretting You or from moderating a signing she was supposed to host for Lukas Gage.

“I’m super bummned, but am having an unavoidable surgery and can’t travel for a while,” Hoover shared in the October Instagram post.

She also added that she was “so sad to miss this movie release and premiere, but so grateful to all the actors and the team who put this together.”

In her recent post on Facebook, Hoover said she had been in Canada filming Reminds of Him when she noticed she “had recurring health issues that I continued to put off until the movie was finished.”

“When I returned home, I found out I had cancer,” she continued, adding that the cancer had “been removed through surgery” and would undergo radiation.

“While it felt huge and scary for a bit, and I had to miss out on the Regretting You premiere, and some other important career and personal moments, I just wasn’t ready to share with anyone until I knew what the outcome would be,” she ended her post.

Woman Down is Hoover’s next book release set for January 13, but the author noted in her post she hadn’t set up a tour yet telling fans “I wanted to make this post and be transparent about why that is,” adding, “I’m not saying I won’t be up to doing at least one signing, but I just won’t know until I know.”

Hoover said that she was okay and “relieved and lucky that it was a comparatively quick experience,” urging her fans to “listen to your body” when they feel “something was off.”
