How to watch Tell Me Lies season 3

Tell Me Lies season 3 will drop its first two episodes on Tuesday, January 13. The season is set in January 2009 during the spring semester at Baird College, where Lucy and Stephen have rekindled their ever-toxic relationship, promising each other that things will be different this time. That resolve doesn’t last long, as their past betrayals resurface and both characters spiral back into their self-destructive patterns.

Creator Meaghan Oppenheimer has confirmed that this season will explore the darker sides of both characters, particularly Lucy, whose morality is pushed into deeply troubling territory. Their relationship is described as resembling a “hostage situation,” defined by emotional control and constantly shifting power dynamics.

Season 3 will also expand Bree’s storyline, following her discovery that Evan cheated on her with Lucy. The fallout from that season 2 finale betrayal is expected to serve as the season’s main emotional driver.

While the first season closely followed Carola Lovering’s novel of the same name, season 2 introduced new plots and timelines, diverging significantly from the book. As a result, season 3 will function as only a “loose adaptation.”

Additionally, Tom Ellis – who plays Oliver and is also Oppenheimer’s husband – has hinted that this could be the show’s final season, though there’s been no official confirmation.
