Hisense Shrinks $30,000 Tech into Smaller TVs for 2026

Hisense on Monday revealed two new RGB mini-LED TVs here at CES 2026. The UR9 and UR8 Series offer screen sizes ranging from 55 to 100 inches.

Hisense says the range brings "dramatically expanded color range with richer saturation and more accurate tonal reproduction." The company says the new TVs are able to "preserve color integrity in bright rooms" when watching movies or playing games.

RGB backlights use clusters of red, green and blue LEDs to produce color and don't necessarily need color filters like other TVs.

The TVs' onboard audio was tuned by French audio brand Devialet, whose distinctive Phantom speakers I loved many years ago.

Hisense's first RGB mini-LED, the 116-inch 116UX, debuted last year for $30,000, and the company says the new range is designed to bring this tech to a wider audience. Meanwhile, the Hisense U8QG was one of my favorite mini-LED TVs of 2025.

In 2026, there are a number of RGB backlit TVs expected from Samsung, LG and more, so it will be interesting to see how Hisense's version competes. The company will also release high-end RGB variations of the backlight featuring cyan or yellow pixels, which could further muddy the waters.

Pricing and availability of the new ranges are yet to be announced.
