‘Hacks’ Stars Paul W. Downs, Meg Stalter Pay Cheeky Homage To Timothée Chalamet & Kylie Jenner’s ‘Marty Supreme’ Premiere Ensemble

Not only did Hacks stars Meg Stalter and Paul W. Downs channel Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet with their Critics Choice Awards carpet style tonight, but they also brought out the personas of their HBO Max characters Kayla and Jimmy.

“Kayla would definitely have Jimmy in something like this,” Stalter told Deadline on the step and repeat, adding that her character — an irreverent nepo baby Hollywood agent — is canonically friends with the Jenner and Kardashian families.

Styled by Erica D. Schwartz, who recreated the neon-orange custom Chrome Hearts ensemble worn by the Marty Supreme star and his reality star-cum-makeup mogul girlfriend at the A24 film’s Los Angeles premiere last month, the duo leaned into the tongue-in-cheek homage.

“We’ve been shooting Season 5, and we’ve been so busy we haven’t had time to pull anything,” Downs said of the matching fits, “so we just asked our stylist to borrow, and they didn’t really have anything, so we borrowed from friends.”

“It fits like a glove, it fits so nice, and I’m just so [thankful]. Thank you to whoever you are for letting us borrow these outfits,” Stalter added.

In the side-by-sides below, you can see just how committed the actors were to closely recreating the looks, down to the Chalamet’s Timbaland boots and leather-ensconced paddle, as well as Jenner’s ornate cross chain.

Hacks will return for its anticipated fifth season sometime this year, with Downs teasing “more revealing” scenes for the satire’s characters, including Jimmy and Kayla. Though star Hannah Einbinder has hinted the critic-favorite series will conclude with this installment, Downs wouldn’t outright confirm as such.

“I’ll get in trouble, they’ll tase me back here,” Downs said of revealing further plot details for Season 5.
