'Gunsmoke' Star and Western Icon Roger Ewing Dead at 83

Roger Ewing, known for his role on the legendary, long-running CBS western series Gunsmoke as deputy marshal Thad Greenwood, has died. Long residing in Morro Bay, California, his family reported on Friday afternoon that the actor had passed away back on December 18. He was 83.
