We’re only about a week into 2026, but Hollywood is already moving at full speed into the crush of awards season. It began with A-listers descending on the desert for the Palm Springs International Film Awards gala and Variety’s own 10 Directors to Watch and Creative Impact Awards breakfast followed by the Critics Choice Awards being handed out in Santa Monica.
Now it’s time for the Golden Globes. From fashion soirees to studio toasts, red carpets will be rolled out throughout Los Angeles in the days and nights leading up to, during and following the 83rd edition of the film and television kudos ceremony. The big night takes place on Sunday, Jan. 11, with comedian Nikki Glaser returning as host for the second year in a row. The festivities begin with Variety’s Marc Malkin and Angelique Jackson hosting the official digital pre-show starting at 3:30 p.m. PT. The Globes follow live at 5 p.m. PT on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.
