A Game of Thrones star's new thriller TV show, Girl Taken, hits the ground running on streaming, becoming an instant success. The British thriller TV series follows sisters Lily (Tallulah Evans) and Abby (Delphi Evans), whose lives are upended when Lily is kidnapped by local schoolteacher Rick Hansen. Rick is portrayed by Alfie Allen, known for Theon Greyjoy in Game of Thrones.

Now, FlixPatrol reports that Girl Taken has become a global streaming powerhouse within just one day of its release. The six-part miniseries sits at Number 3 worldwide on Paramount+ as of January 9, 2025. It's also Number 1 in three countries around the world, those being the UK, Ireland, and Italy.

Girl Taken is based on the book Baby Doll by Hollie Overton. It was developed for television by David Turpin, with episodes written by Turpin, Suzanne Cowie, and Nessa Muthy. In addition to the previously-mentioned actors, main stars include Jill Halfpenny, Vikash Bhai, Niamh Walsh, and Levi Brown. Holly Atkins, Victoria Ekanoye, and Kiran Krishnakumar play supporting roles.

The thriller is one of many roles Allen has taken since the end of the acclaimed fantasy series. The Game of Thrones cast member was also a main character in the Streamz original crime drama Safe Harbor and the British action drama Atomic. He's set to make a key appearance in 3 Body Problem season 2 for Netflix, scheduled for release later this year.
