Emily in Paris' Lucas Bravo Addresses Absence From Season 5 Teaser
Get ready to say bonjour to more time with Emily Cooper.
After five seasons of Lily Collins' character paving her way in a French marketing firm, Netflix confirmed that Emily in Paris will be returning for a sixth installment.
Lily helped announce the news in a YouTube video Jan. 4, appearing in a selfie video on a tripod on a balcony in Paris. Through the camera, she leaned over a breakfast table with a croissant and blew out a "6" candle on top of the pastry.
And indeed, the show is set to return to France, with the caption including a French flag and noting, "Home sweet home. Emily in Paris is returning for Season 6!"
Last time around, Emily embraced her time in Rome after being given the opportunity of a lifetime: heading L'Agence Grateau's Italian headquarters. Chic as ever, the PR exec explored the new city alongside her love interest Marcello (played by Eugenio Franceschini), following her breakups from Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and Alfie (Lucien Laviscount).
"Emily faces professional and romantic challenges as she adapts to life in a new city," Netflix teased in a press release ahead of the season's Dec. 18 premiere. "But just as everything falls into place, a work idea backfires and the fallout cascades into heartbreak and career setbacks."
But the City of Love didn't stray far from the mind, even in a brand-new country.
"Seeking stability, Emily leans into her French lifestyle until a big secret threatens one of her closest relationships," the release continued. "Tackling conflict with honesty, Emily emerges with deeper connections, renewed clarity and a readiness to embrace new possibilities."
As fans got another taste of Emily's très extravagant life, they were also introduced to new characters, like Minnie Driver's royally beautiful Princess Jane.
Looking back at season five, Lily reflected on the bold decision to move her character out of Paris.
Netflix
"It was something so fresh and new," the 36-year-old told Deadline in 2024. "It really felt like season one with Emily going to Paris for the first time, with me going to Rome."
"I really felt like Emily, in a lot of ways, experiencing it," she continued. "It's an opportunity for Emily to let her hair down and turn on her vacation mode and really put her phone down more. A lot of this season is spent with Emily trying to figure out how to create a better work-life balance. That is part of her journey in that lesson."
