Fans turn on Jennifer Lawrence over her 'naked dress' at Golden Globes 2026

23 hours ago 2

Designed by Givenchy’s Sarah Burton, the see-through dress was embroidered with delicate pink, ivory, and green flowers, leaving little to the imagination.

The mother of two proved she's still a red-carpet bombshell, owning the attention as cameras swarmed.

Not everyone was impressed, however, with fans and critics roasting her nearly nude ensemble and sparking a heated online debate.

One critic fumed, ‘Ugh, we’re doing naked dresses again?’ while another added, ‘Someone tell Jennifer Lawrence she’s not 25 anymore.'

One troll wrote, ‘Lawrence looks tired as if she needs to rest,’ while another went so far as to say she looked like a sex worker.

Of course, not all reactions were harsh, with one fan gushing, ‘Jennifer Lawrence looks absolutely stunning!’

Lawrence even joked with ET about hitting the after-parties: 'I'm going to hang. I'm naked, I might as well,' adding that her kids wished she stayed home: 'They would prefer I not be here.'

The actress and her husband, art gallery director Cooke Maroney, are parents to two sons: Cy Maroney, born February 2022, and a younger son born in early 2025, whose details the couple have largely kept private.

It’s been years since Lawrence took such a bold red-carpet risk - the last time was 2017, when she stunned fans at the London premiere of Mother in a sheer, distressed Atelier Versace Fall 2017 Couture gown.

In Die My Love, which also stars Robert Pattinson, Lawrence takes on the role of Grace, a new mother grappling with postpartum depression.

The actress has admitted that her own experiences as a mom of two helped her connect deeply with the character.

'I didn't really end up having really bad postpartum [anxiety] until my second [baby],’ Lawrence told People in November.

‘I think that just added another layer. I mean, I don't think that you have to have kids to play a parent by any means, but having that information about, you know, what a tiny person needs, and is looking for.

In an October 27 interview with The New Yorker, Lawrence reflected on her body image and filming a nude scene in the comedy No Hard Feelings after giving birth to Cy in 2022.

‘Everything bounced back, pretty much, after the first one,’ she said of her first pregnancy, before adding, ‘Second one, nothing bounced back.’

The 83rd Golden Globe Awards brought together some of the brightest stars in film and television at the Beverly Hilton.

Comedian Nikki Glaser serves as the master of ceremonies for the second year in a row.

'Hosting the Golden Globes this year was without a doubt the most fun I have ever had in my career,' Glaser, 41, said in a statement.

And Glaser showed no mercy when Leonardo DiCaprio’s love life came under the spotlight at the 2026 Golden Globes.

One critic fumed, ‘Ugh, we’re doing naked dresses again?’ while another added, ‘Someone tell Jennifer Lawrence she’s not 25 anymore'

The 41-year-old comedian gleefully took aim at several A-listers in the room - with the 51-year-old One Battle After Another star firmly in her sights.

After applauding DiCaprio’s glittering career, Glaser went straight for the jugular, poking fun at his well-documented taste for younger women as he currently dates Italian supermodel Vittoria Ceretti, 27.

‘The most impressive thing is that you’ve been able to accomplish all of this before your girlfriend turned 30,’ she quipped.

Cameras immediately cut to DiCaprio, whose sheepish, visibly uncomfortable reaction - complete with averted eyes - quickly became the moment everyone was talking about.
