A devoted supporter, Utage takes a job at a housecleaning company so she can earn money and continue supporting her favorite star.

However, when a coworker calls in sick, Utage is unexpectedly assigned to a new client, curiously named Tamon. This curious event is no coincidence, as he soon comes face to face with the very object of her adoration: F/ACE’s Tamon himself. But the person she meets behind closed doors is nothing like the flawless idol she’s come to admire. In real life, Tamon is a gloomy young man plagued by self-doubt, with little confidence and no friends. Determined to protect his secret, Utage vows to stay by Tamon's side no matter what. But balancing Tamon’s polished idol persona with his painfully different private self may prove to be the toughest job she’s ever taken.

Release Date: January 3, 2026

Cast: Mayu Iizuka, Shizuka Ishigami, Shun Horie, Youhei Azakami, Yuuichi Nakamura.

In this world, committing a serious crime earns you a sentence as a “Hero,” but there’s nothing heroic about it. Forced into mandatory military service, these so-called heroes are sent to fight Demon Lords in a brutal cycle of endless war. Even death offers no escape, as they’re resurrected over and over again, trapped in perpetual suffering.

Leading the charge on the front lines is Xylo Forbartz, commander of a penal unit hardened by battle. But when Xylo crosses paths with a mysterious new goddess, their unlikely alliance ignites a rebellion that could finally break the chains of eternal punishment. Based on the dark fantasy light novel series, Sentenced to be a Hero is among the most promising new offerings of the season.

Release Date: January 4, 2026

Cast: Yuuma Uchida, Ayane Sakura, Takehito Koyasu, Tomokazu Seki.

MF Ghost is set somewhere in the 2020s, where self-driving electric vehicles have largely replaced traditional cars across Japan. Despite this shift, a major organization known as MFG keeps the spirit of street racing alive by hosting high-speed competitions that exclusively feature combustion-engine cars. The story follows 19-year-old Kanata Rivington, a Japanese-British racer who arrives in Japan behind the wheel of a Toyota 86. While his car may be considered outdated compared to the competition, Kanata quickly proves himself on the track. His success stems from years of intense training under legendary downhill and rally racer Takumi Fujiwara at the Royal Donington Racing School in the United Kingdom.

However, Kanata’s return to Japan isn’t fueled solely by ambition or trophies; he’s also searching for his estranged father, giving the series a strong emotional core. MF Ghost serves as a sequel to Initial D, the iconic 1995 street-racing manga that later became a beloved anime. Now returning for its third season, the series raises the stakes as Kanata races for glory on the challenging Peninsula Manazuru course.

If you’re still feeling the void left by My Hero Academia’s epic finale, this is the perfect series to dive into, especially with Season 2 now arriving.

Kouichi Haimawari shares the same dream as Izuku Midoriya: to become a hero like the pros he admires. While Kouichi does possess a Quirk, he quickly learns that simply having powers isn’t enough to earn a pro hero license. Instead, he puts his modest “sliding” ability to use by performing small, everyday acts of kindness, the kind that often go unnoticed by both heroes and law enforcement. His quiet routine is upended when he’s rescued from a back-alley confrontation by Knuckleduster, an unlicensed hero operating outside the system. Sensing untapped potential in Kouichi, Knuckleduster pulls him into a dangerous investigation involving a mysterious new drug wreaking havoc on the streets. Joined by the energetic online idol Pop☆Step, the unlikely trio works in the shadows to stop criminals who slip through the cracks of hero society.
