Derek Hough Welcomes First Baby With Wife Hayley Erbert
Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert are twirling in bliss.
After all, the Dancing with the Stars couple announced they welcomed their first baby, Everley Capri Hough, together in a sweet social media post.
“December 29, 2025," they captioned their Jan. 5 Instagram photo, featuring their hands holding their newborn's feet. "Everley Capri Hough. Every step of our lives has led us to you. Our hearts have been cracked wide open and our world is forever changed."
This heartfelt announcement comes nearly six months after Hayley and Derek—who got married in 2023 after eight years of dating—shared they were expanding their family in July. That month, Hayley posted a video of her kissing her husband, before slowly unveiling their little one’s sonogram to the camera.
As she captioned the reveal, “We can’t believe the biggest thing to happen to us could be so small.”
Since then, the couple have shared some special gems about their tiny dancer—even if it’s accidental. Indeed, Derek almost revealed the sex of his firstborn while judging Jordan Chiles and her dad Timothy Chiles’ waltz on DWTS in October.
“Watching you two dance really made me excited to have my own moment with my—“ he expressed during the episode, before appearing to stop himself from uttering the word “daughter.“ But before he could focus on the slip-up, he finished his critique by saying, “with my own child.“

However, Derek didn’t stay tight-lipped when discussing how he physically prepared to welcome his bundle of joy.
“I’ve been having classes with the doulas and midwives, learning all about the pregnancy,“ he told E! News in November. “Just all these different things and all these tools to really understand this birth, because it’s going to be a very intimate birth. It’s going to be a little different, so I have to make sure I know what I'm doing.“
"I get emotional thinking about it," Derek said as tears welled up in his eyes, "where I get to guide, mentor, love this human being from day one."
He continued with a smile, "It's gonna be amazing and I'm looking forward to what it all is going to do and mean for me as a dad, as a person, as a man and what's going to evolve within me and change."

After being given medical clearance to get back to performing, Hayley and Derek resumed their Symphony of Dance tour in April 2024. In October, she made her triumphant return to the ballroom as she joined her husband for an emotional routine set to Benson Boone's "Beautiful Things."

The couple announced they'd be welcoming a new addition to their family as they revealed they were expecting their first baby together. Alongside an Instagram video unveiling their unborn child's sonogram, Hayley wrote, "We can’t believe the biggest thing to happen to us could be so small."
