For reasons unknown, he enjoys analyzing box office receipts, giant sharks, and has become known as the go-to man for all things BoschMission: Impossible and Christopher Nolan in Collider's news division. Recently, he found himself yeehawing along to the Dutton saga on the Yellowstone Ranch.

He is proficient in sarcasm, wit, Photoshop and working unfeasibly long hours. Amongst his passions sit the likes of the history of the Walt Disney Company, the construction of theme parks, steam trains and binge-watching Gilmore Girls with a coffee that is just hot enough to scald him.

His obsession with the Apple TV+ series Silo is the subject of mockery within the Senior News channel, where his feelings about Taylor Sheridan's work are enough to make his fellow writers roll their eyes.

Denzel Washington’s reign as one of Hollywood’s most reliable action stars isn’t slowing down — it’s just changing platforms. The Equalizer 3, the final installment in Washington’s long-running vigilante trilogy, has climbed back into the Hulu streaming charts at #12, reminding audiences that Robert McCall still hits just as hard from the couch as he did in theaters. Released in 2023, the film pulled in $191 million worldwide, quietly cementing the franchise as one of the most successful late-career action runs for any major star.

Reuniting Washington with director Antoine Fuqua, The Equalizer 3 leans fully into the qualities that made the series a fan favorite: brutal efficiency, moral certainty, and a lead performance built on pure screen presence. Set largely in Southern Italy, the film trades urban grit for sunlit streets, giving McCall a sense of peace — until, inevitably, violence finds him again. Nearly a decade after Robert McCall first picked up his watch and his sense of justice, The Equalizer 3 is still landing punches.

Is 'The Equalizer 3' Worth Watching?

Collider’s review of the movie stated that The Equalizer 3 is a fitting, if not revelatory, final chapter that works almost entirely because of Denzel Washington’s commanding presence. While the plot is thin and familiar, Antoine Fuqua once again understands that audiences are there to watch Washington dominate the screen, blending brutal, often shockingly gory action with effortless charisma. The Italian setting adds some freshness, even if supporting actors like Dakota Fanning are underused. Though it won’t convert skeptics or surpass the earlier films, the movie delivers exactly what longtime fans expect:

"While the latest Equalizer film may not live up to the previous two installments, it still comes pretty close. The story is nearly nonexistent for much of the runtime, but it does make up for that by having some of the trilogy's most gory sequences to date. The violence is almost on the level of a Saw movie and the amount of tonal whiplash between scenes of Washington buying fish at the local market to dismembering bad guys isn't going to convert anybody who wasn't big on the previous installments. The Equalizer 3 delivers on having plenty of satisfying action of its own. What more could you possibly ask for?"

The Equalizer 3 is streaming now on Hulu.
