EXCLUSIVE: David Dastmalchian (Late Night with the Devil) and Dylan Baker (The Good Wife) have joined Irish audio drama podcast Petrified.

Season four of the horror anthology podcast launches next month. Created by writer-director Peter Dunne and producer Liam Geraghty, the show explores “the chilling tales of ordinary people encountering the supernatural, and their terrifying fates”.

The cast includes Irish actors including Donncha O’Dea (Power Ballad), Margaret McAuliffe (The Humours of Bandon), Áine Ní Laoghaire (Róise & Frank), Anna Sheils-McNamee (Vikings), Gene Rooney (The Woman in the Wall), Roseanna Purcell (Red Rock), Amy O’Dwyer (Fair City), Caitríona Williams (Bad Sisters), Ste Murray (Northern Lights), Deirdre Monaghan (Game of Thrones), Deborah Wiseman (Vikings), Georgina McKevitt (Accelerator) as well as American actor Galen Howard (The Book of Boba Fett).

The series will also feature a cameo appearance from singer Niamh Kavanagh who won the 1993 Eurovision Song Contest for Ireland.

David Dastmalchian said: “When I had this opportunity presented to get to collaborate with some artists in Ireland, I leapt at the opportunity. I really love what those guys make. I think it’s really cool. It reminds me of another time. I just really savor the idea of people all over the world, but especially transatlantic fans of horror, sitting up late at night in their rooms with their headphones on listening to this show and knowing that I get to be a part of it seemed really cool.”

The anthology series, which has garnered accolades at the New York Festivals Radio Awards and the Irish Podcast Awards, was brought to the stage with a live show at the London Podcast Festival in 2022 and a second live show in Dublin in 2023.

The show is funded in Ireland by Coimisiún na Meán with the TV license fee through Sound & Vision, a funding scheme for programmes about Irish culture, heritage, and experience.
