The Critics Choice Awards kick off the 2026 season Jan. 4. With Jackie Tohn and KPop Demon Hunters' Audrey Nuna, Rei Ami and EJAE attending, we're recognizing excellence in red carpet readiness.
Critics Choice Awards 2026 Nominations: ‘Sinners’ & ‘One Battle After Another’ Lead the Pack
Before the Critics Choice Association begins handing out their awards for excellence in film, television and streaming, we're ready to weigh in with some judgment of our own.
And with presenters and nominees Ariana Grande, Teyana Taylor, Quinta Brunson and Allison Janney promised to work the red carpet at the Critics Choice Awards Jan. 4, our reviews are already in: The 2026 awards season is getting off on an exceptionally stylish, stiletto-clad foot.
Though, of course, we're not just here to applaud clean lines, thoughful silhouettes and particularly sparkly jewels.
'Tis the season for doling out trophies to all the creators that entertained us these past 12 months. And the pros behind films like Sinners, One Battle After Another, Hamnet, Wicked: For Good and Marty Supreme are sure to be decking their halls with shiny new hardware.
Those flicks lead the pack of nominees—including nods for actors Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael B. Jordan, Paul Mescal, Jessie Buckley, Timothée Chalamet, Taylor and Grande—and their teams are sure to hear their names called as Chelsea Handler helms the Barker Hangar-set ceremony, airing live across E! and USA Network.
As for the series that kept us glued to our couches, The Pitt, Severance and Hacks are among the shows that captivated us with surgical precision, earning nominees for their stars Adam Scott, Jean Smart, Katherine LaNasa and Noah Wyle.
And we'd like to recognize Handler for her committment to keeping us in stitches, the comedian signing on to emcee the ceremony for the fourth year in a row.
"Kicking off the year with the Critics Choice Awards feels right," she said in a Nov. 17 announcement. "Nothing says 'new beginnings' like a room full of critics ready to tell you how you did last year."
But, first, we're here to assess the fashions. Keep reading for every red carpet look.
