As viewers await the long-gestating third season of HBO/A24’s Euphoria, due out in April 2026, star Colman Domingo is teasing a new installment that is “more cinema than television.”
“We’re gonna have a devastatingly gorgeous, epic season that I think is breaking the mold of television,” The Running Man actor told Deadline on the Golden Globes carpet. “I think it’s gonna become more cinema than television.”
Speaking more specifically to his character, who meets Zendaya’s Rue at an NA meeting and becomes her sponsor, Domingo said Season 3 would mine the depths of Ali Muhammed’s backstory.
“I think you get to look at the building blocks of Ali. I think you may get a little bit of his origin story, which I think is great, and so you can understand why Ali is who he is,” he explained.
Series regulars Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Maude Apatow, Alexa Demie and Hunter Schafer will be joined this year by new series regulars Martha Kelly and Chloe Cherry (both upped from recurring), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Toby Wallace.
Rosalía, Sharon Stone, Marshawn Lynch and Kadeem Hardison joined the cast alongside Darrell Britt-Gibson, Priscilla Delgado, James Landry Hébert and Anna Van Patten. Meanwhile, Alanna Ubach, Daeg Faerch, Dominic Fike, Melvin Bonez Estes, Paula Marshall, Sophia Rose Wilson and Zak Steine also return for Season 3.
As previously reported, the Sam Levinson-created show will take the drama’s characters out of high school for the first time, featuring a five-year time jump. A teaser unveiled last month showed Rue facing off against “a ruthless kingpin” portrayed by newcomer Akinnuoye-Agbaje.
