After one of the greatest careers in filmmaking history, Clint Eastwood is finally done making movies. His last film came in 2024 with Juror #2, the legal thriller following a family man serving in a murder trial who finds himself in a moral dilemma that could sway the outcome of the case — and his future. Starring Nicholas Hoult (Superman) and J.K. Simmons (Invincible), Juror #2 began streaming on HBO Max in America after a bungled theatrical run. It’s also streaming on Netflix in various countries, and it’s even in the global top 10 on both platforms in countries such as Belgium and Pakistan.
Juror #2 was met with an immensely positive reception upon its release two years ago, which felt like a storybook ending to Clint Eastwood’s filmmaking career. The film currently sits at immaculate scores of 93% from critics and 90% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, but many fans were frustrated with how Warner Bros. handled its theatrical release. Despite strong reviews, Juror #2 did not receive a wide theatrical release in America. It was assumed this would change when it performed well internationally, but Warner Bros. opted to put the film on HBO Max instead of giving it a chance on the big screen.
Jonathan A. Abrams wrote the script for Juror #2, with Clint Eastwood taking his final bow as a director on the film. Eastwood made his directorial debut in the early '70s, and he spent the better part of 60 years making beloved Westerns and thrillers that will be remembered forever. He’s a four-time Oscar-winner for his work on Million Dollar Baby and Unforgiven, each of which won two Academy Awards.
What Is Clint Eastwood’s Highest-Grossing Movie?
The highest-grossing movie of Clint Eastwood’s directorial career is American Sniper, the war biopic starring Bradley Cooper that earned over $547 million at the global box office. It’s nearly double the total earnings of his second-highest movie of all time, Gran Torino, in which he also stars. The 2008 film grossed $274 million globally, and it’s not currently streaming anywhere. Some of Clint Eastwood’s other most famous films include Unforgiven, the 1992 Western starring the late Gene Hackman, and Million Dollar Baby, the boxing drama starring Hilary Swank and Morgan Freeman. Many of Eastwood’s films are absent from streaming right now.
Be sure to check out Juror #2 on HBO Max in America, and stay tuned to Collider for more streaming updates.
