Jared is a writer, editor, and Communications Studies graduate who loves popular nerd culture (almost anything to do with Marvel, DC, Star Wars, or The Lord of the Rings) and the interactive storytelling medium. Jared's first console was the PS1, wherein he fell for Spider-Man, Spyro the Dragon, and Crash Bandicoot.
Sedleo and Dear Villagers’ 1348 Ex Voto is a brand-new medieval action game described as a “cinematic action-adventure game inspired by chivalric tales.” Set in the eponymous mid-14th-century—not much longer before Kingdom Come: Deliverance takes place—and starring a phenomenal Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 actor, 1348 Ex Voto seems to be a stunning blend of the best that the medieval era and A-list acting talent have to offer.
According to 1348 Ex Voto’s Steam store page, the game is already scheduled to launch on March 12, 2026, which puts it less than two months away. Moreover, only days after its announcement and reveal, details about additional editions and their pricing are available.
1348 Ex Voto Could Be The Next Plague Tale
At first glance, 1348 Ex Voto bears striking similarities to the tight, cinematic style of gameplay and dreary, somber tone of Asobo Studio and Focus Entertainment’s Plague Tale games or Ninja Theory’s Hellblade games, though presumably not as fantastical as either. It appears as if 1348 Ex Voto’s bread and butter is intimate over-the-shoulder combat, and players should expect plenty of gorgeous cutscenes, not unlike Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
Jennifer English, who played Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’s Maelle, is playing 1348 Ex Voto’s Bianca. Everything Jennifer English touches seems to have turned to gold lately, with her performance as Maelle awarding her Best Performance at The Game Awards 2025 and Best Lead Performer at the Golden Joystick Awards 2025.
Jennifer English will soon star as Gwendolyn in Tides of Annihilation, as well. Therefore, this is a huge get for 1348 Ex Voto, and is sure to enhance its storytelling potential in a game that is evidently narrative-driven as players endeavor to save Jennifer English’s character:
Journey through a tumultuous Medieval Italy as Aeta, a young knight errant who sets off on a brutal quest to find and save her closest one.
It Has Bad News For Xbox
1348 Ex Voto features two ways to buy it: a standard edition and a deluxe edition, with its deluxe edition contents (an artbook) available to be purchased by itself, sans base game. The standard edition is priced at 24.99€/24.99$/21.99£, the artbook sold separately at 5.99€/5.99$/4.99£, and the deluxe edition at 29.99€/29.99$/24.99£. These price points are surprisingly inexpensive, though the actual scale or scope of the game is unknown.
Importantly, it has recently been announced that 1348 Ex Voto will no longer be released on Xbox as the developer focuses on polishing the experience for PC and PlayStation 5. With any luck, this will help ensure that 1348 Ex Voto is as refined as it should be when it reaches its upcoming release date, yet there is always the possibility that it could be hit with a delay.
1348 Ex Voto is scheduled to be released for PC and PS5 on March 12, 2026.
