The 2026 nominees for BAFTA’s Rising Star Award have been revealed, and the list includes actors Chase Infiniti, Miles Caton, and Archie Madekwe.

The full list of five nominees this year are: Chase Infiniti (One Battle After Another), Miles Caton (Sinners), Archie Madekwe (Lurker), Robert Aramayo (I Swear), and Posy Sterling (Lollipop).

The nominees were announced today at a press conference in London. Now in its 21st year, the Rising Star award is the only BAFTA voted for by the British public. The voting window is now open. The final round of voting to determine BAFTA winners will close on January 20. The final noms will be announced on January 27, and the BAFTA Film Awards take place on February 22. Last year’s BAFTA Rising Star prize went to David Jonsson. Previous winners include Mia McKenna-Bruce, Lashana Lynch, Kristen Stewart, and Letitia Wright.

The BAFTA longlists were published last week. Leading the pack is Paul Thomas Anderson’s sprawling comedy One Battle After Another with a record 16 mentions.

One Battle raked in mentions on all the major BAFTA categories, including Best Film, Best Director, and Adapted Screenplay. The film’s dominant showing continues in the performance categories, with newcomer Chase Infiniti landing on the Leading Actress longlist, Leonardo DiCaprio on the Leading Actor longlist, and Sean Penn, Benicio Del Toro, and Teyana Taylor on the respective Supporting longlists.

The previous record for BAFTA longlist mentions was 15, met by Emilia Perez in 2025, All Quiet on the Western Front in 2023, and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, and Martin Scorsese’s Killers Of The Flower Moon in 2024.

Chloé Zhao’s Hamnet and Ryan Coogler’s Sinners trail One Battle with 14 mentions apiece. Both films landed Director, Best Film, and performance mentions. Josh Safdie’s Marty Supreme follows with 13 mentions, Bugonia and Frankenstein both clocked 12, and Sentimental Value and Wicked: For Good close off the leading pack with 8 mentions each.
