Bella Hadid 'splits' from cowboy boyfriend Adan Banuelos following two-year romance

Bella Hadid and professional equestrian Adan Banuelos have reportedly called it quits after two years together.

The supermodel, 28, and Banuelos, a well-known horse trainer on the competitive circuit, are said to have ended their romance recently, according to Entertainment Tonight.

A source told ET that Hadid is taking the breakup hard, describing the end of their relationship as emotionally significant given how committed the relationship had become.

'She's still processing it,' the insider said, adding that the pair's bond had been 'very serious.'

According to the source, Hadid has been leaning into her work and surrounding herself with close friends to 'distract herself from the split.'

Despite the reports, the former couple are still following each other on Instagram. 

The former couple first sparked dating rumors in October 2023, when they were spotted together in Texas.

At the time, Hadid was frequently seen attending rodeo events and spending extended time in the state.

By February 2024, the relationship had gone public on social media, with Hadid sharing affectionate snapshots of the pair wearing matching cowboy hats.

Throughout their time together, Hadid spoke openly about how grounding the relationship felt, particularly as she balanced high-fashion commitments with time spent away from the spotlight. 

She previously credited her life in Texas with bringing her a sense of peace and stability.

The split marks another personal transition for Hadid, who has been candid in recent years about prioritizing her health, well-being and inner circle after stepping back from nonstop modeling schedules.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Hadid's representatives for comment, but has not heard back, at this time. 

Neither Hadid nor Banuelos has addressed the breakup publicly.

Back in April 2024, Hadid announced she would be taking a step back from modeling after moving to Texas with her 'partner.'

'For the first time now, I'm not putting on a fake face. If I don't feel good, I won't go. If I don't feel good, I take time for myself,' she told Allure.

'And I've never had the opportunity to do that or say that before,' she continued. 

'Now when anybody sees me in pictures and they say, I look happy, I genuinely am. I am feeling better; my bad days now were my old good days.'

Banuelos is an accomplished cowboy and was voted into the NCHA Riders Hall of Fame at age 28, the youngest ever to be inducted.

In a May 2025 interview with British Vogue, Hadid spoke fondly of Banuelos, who she said is working 'hopefully [to] build a home and a family one day.

'Family is on my mind,' she told the outlet. 'I can't wait to be a mom. I think that I'm somebody for a lot of people, but in the real intimate way of being the person that somebody can count on consistently, that will change my life for me.' 

She continued: 'And I cannot wait. I never grew up being like, "Oh, I have this vision of marriage." I have this vision of being a mother. But it's got to a point where I'm like: "You know what? That's something that's for me." I think that would make me truly happy.'

She also revealed to the outlet that they met him while she was visiting her mother Yolanda Hadid. 

At the time, she said Banuelos was completely unaware of her worldwide fame and described him as a 'breath of fresh air'. 

'He basically came in, walked into the exhibit hall, which is where we do all of the show stuff,' she said. 'I was getting a cowboy hat fitted. I just saw him and I was like that's the… I always wanted the cowboy. And he's pretty gorgeous, let me tell you something.'

Meanwhile, Banuelos joked to W Magazine in 2024 that 'if it wasn't for horses' he would 'have never met the love' of his life.

'It's a passion that her whole family shares,' Adan continued. 'I was just a lucky guy that said hi. I didn't really know who I was saying hi to.'

He went on to gush, 'I just knew, she's gorgeous. And if I would've known, I probably would've stuttered my way right out it.'

In regards to her horse riding skills, Banuelos said, 'She's very natural, very good at it. All animals, not only horses, love her. Her lifestyle is a lot of fashion and it looks glamorous and this and that, but at heart, she's a cowgirl.' 

A month prior, Banuelos confirmed the model had moved into his fifth wheel trainer RV during an episode of the Along For The Ride podcast.

'She did do the 5th wheel, happily. It was bada**,' he said. 'It was cool because I really wanted that to be a part of our relationship. You know, you start having feelings for somebody and you start thinking things like, "Man, maybe this is the rest of my life here."'

He added, 'And knowing that she is that simple of a human being [and] that the material things aren't important - or the most important thing.'

Banuelos later raved: 'Man, I can't tell you how happy I am. I can't tell you how fortunate I am... this young lady is one of the kindest, biggest-hearted and sweet person I've [ever met]. I mean I didn't know God made 'em like that.'
