Aubrey O'Day ridiculed by fans after looking completely unrecognizable in highly edited photoshoot

Aubrey O'Day has never been shy when it comes to using filters on social media, but she may have gone too far with her latest post.

The Danity Kane singer, 41, looked utterly unrecognizable in a series of recent photos to promote the fast fashion brand Fashion Nova.

Dressed in a faux-fur miniskirt with a matching long-sleeved tube top, the blonde beauty not only looked half her age, but also far more chiseled than usual too.

O'Day's fans didn't mince words in the comments section, with one writing, 'I love you so much but these pictures are so filtered or [Photoshopped] it doesn’t even look like you at all.'

They added, 'I literally thought this post was someone completely different.'

Another wrote, 'As an actual fan of yours, I think its just very misleading for fans of you to look on your page and not actually see... you. These photos are so highly edited your essence is completely eradicated from them. This looks like a completely different human being.'

A third commented, 'You have to stop with the Photoshop. Just be your real self!'

O'Day hit back in the comments, claiming that her highly-edited images are a form of 'art' and creative expression.

'I’m always my real self. There are too many ways art is advancing not to pay attention and play with my art. It's much harder to create what I do then stand and take a selfie,' she wrote.

This is far from the first time that O'Day has been called out for her airbrushed images.

The Damaged hitmaker regularly shares unrecognizable photos of herself to social media, with many of the images appearing to be enhanced through Photoshop, filters, or even AI.

'AI is crazy these days. We all just saw the video of you on tour, you look great, [but] this is not an accurate depiction,' one fan wrote on a recent post.

'I just saw her perform, she’s way bigger, and I love it. I'm just saying too much editing here,' wrote another.

Daily Mail has contacted O'Day for comment.

O'Day recently reunited with some of her former Danity Kane bandmates for a reunion tour.

Unfortunately, she missed the group's show in Los Angeles last month after becoming 'extremely sick' at the last minute.

She explained on social media that she had been trying to push through illness but had to accept that she would not be able to take the stage that night.

'My loves... I am so sorry. I've become extremely sick and physically can't make tonight's show as I'm in the ER,' she wrote in Instagram.

'I've been fighting it all day, spinning around in my head trying to find any way to make this work, but being sick is being sick,' she wrote. 'It's completely out of my control.'

O'Day – who was featured in the Netflix documentary about Sean 'Diddy' Combs – added, 'My heart is broken because I never want to let you down.'

Danity Kane, once proteges of Diddy, announced in October that they would be reuniting for a concert tour.

Later, it was revealed that O'Day, Aundrea Fimbres and D. Woods would be the only ones returning for the reunion. Dawn Richard and Shannon Bex declined to return.

In Sean Combs: The Reckoning, O'Day spoke about meeting the Bad Boy Records founder and becoming chosen to join Danity Kane after winning MTV's Making The Band.

She claimed that she was singled out by Diddy on a number of occasions and said that he allegedly sent her an inappropriate email at one point.

She also addressed how she was contacted by one of Diddy's alleged victims who claimed she witnessed O'Day being assaulted by him and a bodyguard, a memory she admitted she had no recollection of in the documentary.

Diddy, who was sentenced to 50 months in prison after his federal trial, has vehemently denied all of the allegations.
