Ryan Murphy's next project for FX, which he has described as a "sci-fi medical show, just got an all-new chilling trailer ahead of its debut in a few weeks. Titled The Beauty, we see screen icon Ashton Kutcher behind a super drug that makes you "effortlessly beautiful," exactly as his character says in the trailer. Murphy and Matthew Hodgson created the new body-horror show as an adaptation of a comic book series by Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley.
As The Beauty trailer opens, Kutcher's shady tech billionaire character, The Corporation, hails himself as "the greatest goddamn advertisement" for his new super drug while partying on a yacht. Elsewhere, he promotes the substance with just the right words that people want to hear, such as: "One simple injection to become a beauty," and "It's an STD that people will actually want." But of course, this super drug has horrifying consequences.
Starring in The Beauty, in addition to Kutcher, is frequent Murphy collaborator Evan Peters, alongside Rebecca Hall, Anthony Ramos, and Jeremy Pope. Guest stars include Amelia Gray Hamlin, Ari Graynor, Bella Hadid, Ben Platt, Billy Eichner, Isabella Rossellini, Jessica Alexander, Julie Halston, Lux Pascal, Meghan Trainor, Nicola Peltz Beckham, Peter Gallagher, and Vincent D'Onofrio. The first three episodes of the dark sci-fi show will premiere on January 21, 2026, at 9 p.m. ET on FX and Hulu (and Disney+ for international streamers).
What Is FX's Dark New Sci-Fi Drama About?
As teased by the official synopsis, The Beauty is set in a world of high fashion that turns dark when international supermodels begin dying in gruesome and mysterious ways. FBI Agents Cooper Madsen (Peters) and Jordan Bennett (Hall) are sent to Paris to uncover the truth. As they delve deeper into the case, they uncover a sexually transmitted virus that transforms ordinary people into visions of physical perfection, but with terrifying consequences.
These agents' paths lead them directly into the crosshairs of The Corporation (Kutcher), a shadowy tech billionaire who has secretly engineered a miracle drug dubbed The Beauty, who will do anything to protect his trillion-dollar empire, including unleashing his lethal enforcer, The Assassin (Ramos). As the epidemic spreads, Jeremy (Pope), a desperate outsider, is caught in the chaos, searching for purpose as agents race across Paris, Venice, Rome, and New York to stop a threat that could alter humanity's future.
