It’s already been a good year for Wicked fans. Sure, the second part of Jon M. Chu’s cinematic adaptation of the Tony Award-winning musical may have come and gone, but the end of 2025 saw the digital arrival of Wicked: For Good, which means its streaming debut is just a hop, skip, and a jump down the Yellow Brick Road. Today, we at Collider are thrilled to share a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the Universal Pictures production, which is just one of many bonus features available to those who purchase the title to add to their collection on the Apple TV app. Part of a larger featurette titled “Meet the First Family,” the sneak peek pulls back the curtain and brings viewers up close and personal with Ariana Grande, who completed one of her lifelong goals of playing Glinda in the feature-length reimagining.

There was a lot of good that came along with landing the coveted part of the pink-loving witch in Chu’s Wicked films for Grande. Not only did she get to see one of her biggest dreams come true, but she got to do right by a character that she’s loved and studied since childhood. In our exclusive behind-the-scenes clip, the pop superstar talks about the joy she felt in taking audiences on the journey of growth alongside Glinda — a character who grows tenfold over the two films. Grande says that her character is constantly forced to change her beliefs over the course of the story, particularly when it comes to what the term “goodness” means to her.

Glinda the Good’s Journey Through ‘Wicked’ and ‘Wicked: For Good’

As those who are familiar with the movie, Broadway show, or book will know, Glinda’s path to her own version of goodness is an extremely bumpy one. When we meet her in the first part of the story, she’s simply dying to be the most talented witch that Shiz University has ever seen, and her life of incredible privilege has made her believe that she’s entitled to the title. By the end of Wicked: For Good, she’s been through a magical love story (in more than one way) and has felt the pain of losing those closest to you. Additionally, she no longer sees the world through her pink-colored glasses and is forced to reckon with the choices that she made before she fully grew into the woman we see before the credits roll.
