Apple TV's fan-favorite comedy Ted Lasso is back on the streamer's top ten most-watched shows, two years after what was thought to be the series finale aired. Streaming data from FlixPatrol shows the show is currently the fourth-most-watched on the platform, beating other Apple TV powerhouses like Slow Horses and Severance. This renewed global interest comes ahead of a fourth season, which is set to continue Coach Lasso's (Jason Sudeikis) story in the same, yet different, manner.

Ted Lasso premiered on Apple TV (formerly Apple TV+) in August 2020, nearly one year after the service launched. The all-new platform sought to enter the streaming market with original high-concept shows, launching with hits like The Morning Show, For All Mankind, and Mythic Quest. While they were successful in their own right, Ted Lasso set the bar quite high when it premiered and stole viewers' hearts with its heartwarming story of an American football coach who moves to England to coach a fledgling soccer team.

The show's debut season was a hit with critics and viewers, earning it numerous Emmy nominations. Its winning streak continued in Season 2 when it was nominated for more Emmys. Until its final season, Ted Lasso had been nominated 138 times across all awards, winning 38, mainly for its cast's amazing performances. Ted Lasso's main slogan for three seasons was "Believe," but that is about to change in Season 4.

'Ted Lasso' Returns With a New Rallying Call

Coach Lasso taught AFC Richmond to believe — believe that if they do the work, they will win, and win they did. In Season 4, Coach Lasso teaches another team a different slogan, as the season's description explains. "Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women's football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would," it says.

Sudeikis returns for Season 4 as star and executive producer. "As we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to ‘look before we leap,' in Season 4, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK, discovering that wherever they land, it’s exactly where they're meant to be," he said when the renewal was announced. Also expected to return are Hannah Waddingham (as Rebecca Welton), Jeremy Swift (as Leslie Higgins), Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent), Nick Mohammed (as Nathan Shelby), and Juno Temple (Keely Jones).
