Many times, simulation games are a stone's throw away. While there's a plethora of AAA experiences like Animal Crossing and The Sims universe at your fingertips, so many genre games are constantly coming out, there's always something new around the corner.

Right now, players are "obsessed" with this new game, which is available on iOS and Androidand will be released on Steam.

Heartopia Crops Field

Described as a "multiplayer life simulation game," Heartopia is a free-to-play project from publisher XD Entertainment that's currently blowing up app stores. You'll be able to build a dream home, as well as discover in-game hobbies (including gardening, fishing, and birding), and learn more about the inhabitants of the game's titular town of Heartopia.

Social reactions have been very positive (as have the mobile user reviews), with folks noting that they're "obsessed" on socials. Others are calling it "comfy and cozy," which is exactly what you want to hear about a sim like this. "I easily can play this everyday hours upon hours" one iOS review notes.

The house-building aspect is a huge part of the game, but you can also adopt dogs and cats, and customize your outfits. For everyone who is officially done with the Sims universe, this could be a good alternative to check out. It could pair nicely with the upcoming 3.0 Animal Crossing: New Horizons update as well.

Sometimes Those Are Ideal

Building Heartopia

With "creativity, freedom, and peace," you won't need to worry about world-ending stakes or anything like that. Heartopia instead focuses on the smaller things in life, including the power to invite friends over to hang out or work on a project together. After the rip-roaring success of New Horizons in 2020, so many people are looking to recreate those good vibes, and want a hangout game to play with friends. Some folks gravitate toward survival games, and others are all about sims.

Although folks may not be able to get together in person, online play can help unite communities and friend groups alike. It's no wonder that over the last five years we've seen an increasing number of multiplayer experiences in the simulation genre. It just makes sense to add a feature that's widely praised in one of the best-selling entries in the genre.

It's great that there are so many options available for everyone, especially in the wake of the Animal Crossing 3.0 update. Not everyone has a Switch, after all.
