In 2026, the importance of global community has been heightened more than ever. In times of turmoil, art has proven capable of uniting us across the board. Language barrier notwithstanding, we've seen it already on TV with Heated Rivalry, featuring two young men from opposite ends of the world falling in love on a national stage, or in film with Brazil's Golden Globe-winning political thriller, The Secret Agent.
Of course, as artists have proven time and time again, music is a medium which knows no bounds when it comes to uniting communities of difference. In fact, the impact of global TV and film phenomena would hardly be as widespread as it is without the music that accompanies the art. One artist who fully understands that impact is Greek vocalist and musician, Andreas Abasaid.
Abasaid released his debut EP, Everything I Never Told You, earlier this week, and the 20-year-old is already making waves on an international scale. The six-song EP amasses four different languages, and highlights Abasaid's identity as a global artist—this is exactly the kind of debut that has the potential to go far in 2026.
Everything I Never Told You Is An Emotional Ride Across The Globe
Andreas Abasaid grew up a musician, studying music from the vantage point of classical piano and opera from a young age. The Cyprus-native went out to London to study Law, and it was there that he rediscovered his love of music, and began writing songs as a young adult. Now, at 20 years old, his dream has finally been realized in the form of his debut EP.
Everything I Never Told You consists of six songs, with lyrics in English, Greek, French, and Italian. The multilingual singer has said that each song was written in the language that felt the most suited to the emotion and sentiment present in the lyrics, and even without knowing three of the four aforementioned languages, that emotion shines through each and every note.
Of course, the only track whose lyrics I understood in full was "When You Are Not Around," but that in no way detracted from the listening experience; this EP is especially poignant from an emotional standpoint, with Abasaid's vocal performance betraying each and every feeling present in the lyrics.
Sonically, this debut has an "it" factor that roped me in from the first track. While the EP definitely has a coherent throughline, the different musical and cultural influences that vary from song to song are clear as day, demonstrating a true handle on his craft that Abasaid should be—and clearly is—proud of. If this is just the beginning for the young pop-rocker, then I can't wait to see what the future holds.
