The release window for Ahsoka season 2 has seemingly been revealed after rumors the show would be delayed. Disney previously confirmed Ahsoka season 2 in January 2024, however concrete information about its return has remained sparse. Rumors of its delay swirled when it wasn't featured in Disney+ advertisements for upcoming original shows coming out in 2026.
Now, Disney+ has unveiled a new section on their streaming platform titled "Coming Soon in 2026," quietly listing Ahsoka under the category. This is the first potential confirmation the streaming service has provided that season 2 will be arriving later this year. However, a more concrete release window hasn't been revealed, meaning it could arrive at any time.
Ahsoka season 2 began filming in April 2025 in the UK, with filming wrapping in September of that year. All eight episodes were written by showrunner Dave Filoni, who will reportedly be stepping into the role of president of LucasFilm upon Kathleen Kennedy's upcoming departure. As for the Star Wars series, it's seemingly still in post-production.
The end of Ahsoka season 1 saw the title character with the Noti, alongside Sabine and Huyang, after killing Morgan. Meanwhile, Ezra Bridger reunites with Hera Syndulla after a lengthy separation, while Baylan continues his journey upon finding statues of the Mortis Gods. These multifaceted developments will be key to defining how season 2 is going to play out.
Disney+ has seemingly confirmed the show will arrive this year, but there's still the bigger mystery of when it will come out. The streaming service already has multiple high-profile series scheduled for 2026, including Daredevil: Born Again season 2 on March 4, X-Men '97 season 2 in mid-2026, and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2 in late 2026.
Star Wars: Maul — Shadow Lord and Star Wars: Visions — The Ninth Jedi are also scheduled for release this year, though exact dates haven't been revealed as of writing. Adding Ahsoka season 2 to the plate means at least three new Star Wars projects are due on the platform this year, none of which have had their release windows unveiled.
Given the show is already filmed, though, Ahsoka season 2 could be coming out sooner rather than later. Even with the series having no confirmed date yet, the fact it's listed by Disney+ and appears to be the Star Wars TV show farthest along in production means there's a strong chance it could come out before the franchise's other shows planned for release in 2026.
