When a sitcom runs long enough, weird details and patterns start to emerge, and that's certainly true for Friends. The timing of Phoebe's pregnancy makes no sense, Rachel forgets everything she knows about sailing between episodes and characters who partied together in college have no memory of each other as adults.
However, one detail that many fans don't realize is that - from Season 1 to Season 10 - every possible connection of the main characters make out, with only one not quite completing the full set (and even then, it's not in the way you think.)
Phoebe Kissed Every Other Main Character on FRIENDS
The oddball of the group, Phoebe is the only member who doesn't have a major romance with one of the other main characters... but she still macked on them all.
Phoebe starts out strong, making out with Ross on Central Perk's pool table in 'The One With the Flashback,' comforting him after his marriage falls apart. Thankfully for Ross/Rachel fans, they realize it's a bad idea and it's never discussed again.
Speaking of Rachel, Phoebe kisses her in 'The One With Rachel's Big Kiss' (completing Rachel's set), after Rachel's college friend Mindy Hunter denies they ever kissed.
Phoebe and Chandler kiss in 'The One Where Everybody Finds Out' when the gang are trying to force Chandler to admit he and Monica are an item, and kisses Joey while pretending to be her twin sister Ursula in 'The One with Barry and Mindy's Wedding.'
Joey Tribbiani Kissed Every Other Main Character on FRIENDS
As befits a man who advertized lipstick in Japan, Joey kisses a lot more than just Friends' main cast, however he still locked lips with all of them. Ross agrees to kiss Joey so he doesn't fail an audition for a gay character in season 2's 'The One With Barry and Mindy's Wedding' as well as one New Year's Eve kiss in Season 5.
Joey and Rachel dated in one of the show's least popular romances (and as a side-effect, Joey's guilt made him imagine kissing Ross once again.) Likewise, he was married to Monica in the alt-reality episode 'The One That Could Have Been, Part 2,' with the two sharing an affectionate kiss.
Joey's best (but not only) kiss with Phoebe comes in Season 10's 'The One Where Joey Loses His Insurance,' as he sweetly fulfills her goal of having a perfect kiss before turning 30. Joey and Phoebe also locked lips on multiple other occasions - part of the reason that some fans consider them the show's great unfulfilled romance.
Rachel Green Kissed Every Other Main Character on FRIENDS
As noted, Rachel kissed Joey when they were dating and Phoebe so she could reclaim the fact she'd kissed a woman. Of course, she also kissed Ross many times over during their on-off romance.
Fans will be surprised to learn that Rachel and Chandler have kissed, but it happened multiple times. Chandler kisses both Phoebe and Rachel as a pretend 'European goodbye' after they walk in on him and Monica.
It's also stated in 'The One Where Chandler Can't Remember Which Sister' that a drunk Chandler kissed multiple friends including Rachel, and it's revealed that - through a convoluted series of events - the two kissed during college, according to 'The One Where The Stripper Cries.' More on that unfortunate episode later...
Ross Geller Kissed Every Other Main Character on FRIENDS
We've already detailed how Ross kissed Rachel, Phoebe and Joey, and fans may be assuming that he didn't kiss either Chandler of Monica. Sadly, neither of those assumptions are true.
When Chandler apologizes to his friends for 'sticking his tongue down your throat' in 'The One Where Chandler Can't Remember Which Sister,' Rachel, Monica and Ross all say "that's okay," giving Chandler his one and only (problematic) lip lock with Ross. Interestingly, according to actor commentary on the episode, this line was improvised by David Schwimmer on the day of shooting.
As for Monica... well, we'll get to Monica.
Even Chandler Bing Kissed Every Other Main Character on FRIENDS
Despite being a sad sack in the early seasons, Chandler kisses every main character in Friends by the time the series is over, and of course he ends up marrying Monica.
We've noted how Chandler kissed (I.E. assaulted) Ross, Monica and Rachel. And it's a kiss with Phoebe that forces Chandler to admit he loves Monica, unable to cheat on her - something the writers proposed elsewhere in the series (not with Phoebe), but which actor Matthew Perry turned down, saying fans would never forgive him.
You might be expecting a convoluted reason for Joey and Chandler to kiss, but the two bros simply lock lips out of affection sometimes. Joey kisses Chandler after he whines about being left out on New Year's Eve, and kisses him out of affection as early as Season 1's 'The One With The Monkey.'
Unrelatedly, but in another weird pattern, Chandler, Ross and Joey all share multiple romantic partners over the series. Chandler and Joey both date Kathy and Ginger (whose wooden leg Joey threw onto a fire), and both Chandler and Ross dated Janice. Similarly, Ross and Joey both date Rachel, Charlie and Kristen (the latter at the same time, leading the two to compete for her affections.)
Only Monica Geller Didn't Kiss Every Other Main Character on FRIENDS
Finally, we come to Monica. By now, you'll know that Monica is the one main character who doesn't kiss every other Friend, but she comes close! Monica technically kisses Pheobe goodbye in 'The One with Ross's Wedding' and makes out with Rachel off-screen in 'The One With All The Haste,' bartering with Joey and Chandler for the return of their apartment.
Monica never kisses Joey (outside the alt-world fantasy we mentioned), despite the fact that - when she first hooked up with Chandler - she was actually looking for Joey, as she admits in 'The One With the Truth About London.' Thankfully, Chandler gets over that fact in time for Joey to officiate their wedding. And yes, sadly, Monica made out with her brother Ross.
In 'The One Where The Stripper Cries,' the group recount a college party where Ross kissed a drunken Rachel in the dark. It's later revealed that wasn't Rachel. Rachel was on Chandler's bed, while the girl on Ross' bed turns out to have been his sister. Ross exclaims, "You were my first kiss with Rachel?!" and Monica retorts, "You were my first kiss ever?!", leaving Chandler to wonder, "What did I marry into?"
After 10 seasons and nine years, Monica Geller is the only Friends main character who never romantically kissed the others, just barely on a show-wide royal flush thanks to Joey and Phoebe.
