Shrishty is a decade-old journalist covering a variety of beats between politics to pop culture, but movies are her first love, which led her to study Film and TV Development at UCLAx. She lives and breathes cinema and sometimes wakes up with the close-up shot of Ryan Gosling's hands playing piano in La La Land, in her head.

She has worked with numerous media outlets, including Burda Media (MSN News), DKODING Media, The Voice of Fashion, Hindustan Times, and more. Throughout her career, she has interviewed an array of people, from CEOs and politicians to filmmakers and farmers.

We are days away from returning to Westeros with HBO’s next offering, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. The series will mark the first from the Game of Thrones universe sans a dragon, and that makes it all the more interesting. The upcoming series, created and showrun by Ira Parker, has all eyes on it and will focus on the smallfolk of the continent that fans have come to love in the past decade. While fans are aware of George RR Martin’s three published Dunk and Egg novellas, with another season already greenlit, the showrunner recently revealed that Martin has outlined plans for as many as 12 additional stories.

The tale of Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire Egg (a Targaryen prince in disguise) sees them travel across Westeros, helping the smallfolk and Lords alike, which the first season covers. However, we know Egg will grow up to be King Aegon V while Ser Duncan will become his Lord Commander of the Kingsguard. But it seems Martin has planned the story out well in advance, “He has shared with me about 10 to 12 more little outlines for books, for novellas, taking Dunk and Egg all the way through their life,” Parker said in a new conversation. Further adding,

“Right now, we’re focused on one, and we’ll see how the world responds to that. We’re making two at the moment. Hopefully, everybody likes it and we get to keep doing these. Certainly, I love doing it. I love writing in this world, and it’s a wonderful story. So, I hope we get to make as many of these as possible.”

Given there are three published novellas already and with another 12 stories outlined, the scope of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is wide. If the series continues, it can run longer than the original series, which ran for 8 seasons, and the ongoing House of the Dragon, which will conclude with the fourth season.

What To Expect From 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms'?

The series will cover the first novella, The Hedge Knight, which sees Dunk turning into Ser Duncan the Tall and Egg joining him as his squire. While Targaryens are present in the series set around 80 years after the events of House of the Dragon, their reign is declining. But the focus of the show will be Dunk, Egg, and their adventures in the Seven Kingdoms.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will premiere on January 18. Stay tuned to Collider for more such updates.
