This strange mystery has led players to the edge of the map, and questions still remain

Players in the RedDeadMysteries subreddit recently noticed a strange series of spider webs in the game, resulting in a wild goose chase spanning the game's massive map of the fictionalized 19th century American frontier. Eventually, the trail ran cold at Fort Wallace, where a pair of guitars pointed players to the fort's rooftop.
After a bit more sleuthing, eagle-eyed Red Dead fans noticed some birds carved into the roof's shingles, leading to a flock of real birds located in the northernmost part of the map, in the Calumet Ravine. Obviously, the birds fly off when players arrive there, but as spotted by YouTuber The Strange Man, if players use binoculars to zoom in on the mountains across from the ravine, a massive question mark can be seen seemingly carved into the mountain.
Unfortunately, the mountain itself is out of bounds, making it impossible for players to reach on horseback or on foot. It's possible that players may need to perform a certain action near the mountains to trigger the next clue, or look at other areas nearby. It's also possible the next clue hasn't been added to the game yet, leading to fans to look to Rockstar for assistance.
What is interesting, however, are the initial clues that set off the Easter egg hunt: eight spiderwebs with feathers in them. Five of the webs have black feathers, while three of them have red feathers, leading some players to think the Easter egg may be related to Eagle Flies, an NPC who appears in eight missions. In five of the missions, he isn't harmed, which players associate with the five black feathers. In the final three missions, he is kidnapped, held prisoner, and eventually killed (hence the three red feathers). Interestingly, the clue leading to the question mark on the mountain involved tracking down birds that fly away when you arrive, a possible reference to Eagle Flies' name. Even more intriguing, the Calumet Ravine is a part of the Wapiti Native American reservation, and Eagle Flies is a member of the Wapiti tribe.
It seems clear that whatever's going on is somehow related to Eagle Flies. The real question is how this Easter egg may be related to Grand Theft Auto 6. There's no guarantee that it has anything to do with the upcoming game, of course, but given the fact that GTA 6 is Rockstar's next title (and the fact that Grand Theft Auto 5 also features an interesting spider web- and mountain-related Easter egg), it seems likely that whatever's going on in Red Dead Redemption 2 has something to do with Rockstar's next game.
Hopefully, this particular puzzle will be cracked soon.
