In over three years at Collider, senior author Jake has now penned over 2500 articles covering a wide range of TV and film for the resources, lists, utilities, news, and interview teams. Alongside interviewing stars such as Selin Hizli, Rose Ayling-Ellis, and Chelsea Peretti, Jake was lucky enough to visit the set of Aardman and Netflix's Wallace and Gromit: A Vengeance Most Fowl in 2024, getting the chance to chat with four-time Academy Award winner Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham. Jake has also worked for other publications, including Agents of Fandom

The Netflix streaming charts have been dominated by the fifth and final season of Stranger Things ever since it debuted back in late November 2025. For over a month, it was all leading up to the feature-length finale on December 31, which left fans with their jaws dropped in what was dubbed the "season's best episode" by Collider's Robert Brian Taylor in his review. However, heading into this new weekend, Stranger Things does not sit atop the U.S. streaming charts, with the prolific crime writer Harlan Coben's latest Netflix adaptation, Run Away, stealing the crown. But there's plenty more on offer this weekend. Here's a look at three Netflix shows you should binge-watch.

3 '11.22.63' (2016)

Rotten Tomatoes: 83% | IMDb: 8.0/10

Part of the January 2026 slate of new arrivals on Netflix, the 2016 miniseries 11.22.63, an adaptation of the Stephen King novel of the same name, is the perfect easy binge-watch this weekend. The series follows English teacher Jake Epping (James Franco) as his life is changed forever when he discovers that his friend Al Templeton (Chris Cooper) has a time-traveling portal that takes its user back to a 1960s diner.

A mind-bending time travel tale with all the trimmings, 11.22.63 is a clever King adaptation that certainly does its source material justice. Executive produced by J.J. Abrams, and also starring the likes of Sarah Gadon, Daniel Webber, George MacKay, Cherry Jones, and Josh Duhamel, this twisting tale will have you hooked for all eight of its Primetime Emmy-nominated episodes.

2 'Prodigal Son' (2019–2021)

Rotten Tomatoes: 56% | IMDb: 7.7/10

Yet another of the new arrivals this January, both seasons of Prodigal Son make their Netflix bow this weekend. The series follows the son of a serial killer and gifted former FBI profiler, Malcolm Bright (Tom Payne), whose life is made much harder when he begins to suspect that he himself might be a sociopath. To absolve his demons, Malcolm helps solve crimes for the NYPD.

Written and created by Chris Fedak and Sam Sklaver, Prodigal Son is a series that, although facing mixed reviews from critics, found a fairly universal positive response from audiences. Alongside the aforementioned Payne, the series also stars Lou Diamond Phillips, Halston Sage, Aurora Perrineau, Frank Harts, Keiko Agena, Bellamy Young, and the ever-brilliant Michael Sheen in one of his most underrated performances.

1 'His & Hers' (2026)

Rotten Tomatoes: 80% | IMDb: N/A

Following the debut of Run Away, Netflix is continuing a strong start to 2026 with the arrival of the new limited series His & Hers. Starring the eye-catching duo of Jon Bernthal and Tessa Thompson, the series follows a journalist and detective who clash while investigating a murder in the searing heat of Atlanta.

Based on Alice Feeney's 2020 mystery thriller of the same name, this twisting mystery will have you questioning every beat as the phrase 'there are two sides to every story' is explored in granular detail. "Bernthal and Thompson lead the viewer through a twisty narrative that surprisingly tugs at your heartstrings and leaves you wondering if there's anyone — anywhere — that you can actually trust," wrote Emily Bernard in Collider's review of the series.
