This week, that is set to continue, as those yet to catch up on the fifth and final season finally indulge in the last chapter in the tale of the brave, young, monster-fighting locals of a 1980s Indiana neighborhood.
Sure, the final season has proven divisive, but that shouldn't take away from Stranger Things' place among the very best shows of all time. A spectacle that proves television can rival film, this sci-fi series has something for everyone, and it set in motion several of the brightest Hollywood careers of today. Simply put, everyone with a Netflix subscription should watch Stranger Things at least once; you might just have to set aside plenty of time to do it.
2 'The Red Road' (2014–2015)

A 2025 hit series that might have flown under your radar, the Canadian comedy North of North should be near the top of your watchlist heading into 2026. The series follows Siaja (Anna Lambe), an Inuk woman in a fictional Canadian Arctic town who feels trapped in her relationship. Looking to build a new future, Siaja finds herself struggling under the weight of small community gossip and expectations.
With a perfect 100% critics' score on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, North of North is well worth your time. A heartwarming, inspiring series that's both hilarious and poignant, the show is one of the best of its kind from the past 12 months and is deserving of much more attention. What's more, there are just nine episodes available to watch, making the series a perfect binge this week.
