3 'Mission: Impossible' (1996)

Rotten Tomatoes: 67% | IMDb: 7.2/10

Of the many movies turning 30 in 2026, this is one of the most influential. Tom Cruise's first assignment as Ethan Hunt, Mission: Impossible follows the American agent as he must dispel rumors about his disloyalty by discovering the real spy behind the chaos, all without the help of those he once trusted.

Directed by Brian De Palma, this first entry into one of action's best franchises certainly sets the tone for the breathless spectacle to come. From the opening sequence that will leave your jaw suspended above a pressure-sensitive floor to the film's closing moments, get ready for a thrill ride sure to keep you thoroughly entertained this weekend.

2 'Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping' (2016)

Rotten Tomatoes: 79% | IMDb: 6.7/10

One of the most underrated comedies of the past 10 years, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping follows the life of a former boy-band member turned solo popstar: Conner4Real (Andy Samberg). However, his latest album looks destined to be a failure, leaving this lover of the spotlight doing everything he can to stay painfully relevant.

A mockumentary soaked in the wild celebrity culture of today, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping is a true gem of a comedy. Featuring a pitch-perfect performance from Samberg and even appearances from the likes of DJ Khaled and Usher, you'll be left quoting this movie long after the credits roll. Though sadly a box office failure, a decade on, this cult hit is worthy of its high retrospective praise.

1 'Tully' (2018)

Rotten Tomatoes: 87% | IMDb: 6.9/10

From director Jason Reitman and screenwriter Diablo Cody, the parenting dramedy Tully reunites the pair with their Young Adult star Charlize Theron, who stars as a struggling mother of three. Given a night nanny as a gift from her brother, little does she expect to form a bond with this new woman in her life.

A relatable and refreshingly real comedy about the struggles of motherhood, Tully feels like a spiritual predecessor to Rose Byrne's 2025 hit If I Had Legs I'd Kick You. Headlined by Theron in one of her most underrated performances, this raw comedy is a must-watch this weekend. Alongside Theron, Tully also stars Mark Duplass, Ron Livingston, Lia Frankland, and an electric Mackenzie Davis.
