Adam Blevins began working in the entertainment industry in 2022 as a Staff Writer for Agents of Fandom, where he progressed to Senior Editor and interviewed talent from Marvel Studios, House of the Dragon, and Planet of the Apes. He joined Collider as a News Author in April 2024, was promoted to a Senior position in December 2024, and has written over 3,000 articles for the site, including exclusives relating to Avengers: Doomsday, The Penguin, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, and more. He primarily writes about the latest box office numbers and the hottest movies and TV shows on streaming, while also covering superhero and sci-fi news. He has completed a set visit for The Chosen and even has several months of experience writing Gaming Features at ScreenRant. You can find him on X, LinkedIn, and Muckrack.

Chris Pratt first rose to fame thanks to his performance in Parks & Recreation, but it wasn’t until he played Star Lord in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies that he proved himself to be a true leading man. He further lit the world on fire by leading a new generation of Jurassic movies with Bryce Dallas Howard, a trilogy that kicked off 11 years ago with the release of Jurassic World. The film is set 22 years after the events of Jurassic Park and follows a new disaster at the theme park built at the same site of the original.

Jurassic World is streaming on HBO Max globally, where the film has returned to the top 10 in more than 15 countries around the world. It’s even outperforming the franchise’s latest installment, Jurassic World Rebirth, which stars Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali. Jurassic World isn’t streaming anywhere in America right now after losing its streaming home at the start of the new year, but considering the film’s popularity, it likely won’t be long before it returns to one of the major platforms. The film earned scores of 72% from critics and 78% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and it grossed $1.6 billion at the global box office. When factoring in marketing, Jurassic World reportedly cost over $250 million.

Rick Jaffa wrote the screenplay for Jurassic World with Amanda Silver and Colin Trevorrow, and Trevorrow also stepped behind the camera to direct the film. Trevorrow did not return to direct the 2018 sequel, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and he was instead replaced by J.A. Bayona. However, he continued to work on the script, and he reunited with the director’s chair for 2022’s Jurassic World Dominion.

Are They Making Another ‘Jurassic World’ Movie?

Universal Pictures has yet to officially announce another Jurassic World movie, and given the data, it’s not exactly a guarantee that another film will happen. Jurassic World Rebirth grossed $869 million at the box office against a $180 million budget, ensuring the film was a massive financial hit, but it still earned less than any of Chris Pratt’s franchise installments. Stars like Scarlett Johansson and Mahershali Ali are also busy with other projects over the next few years, so there may not be a window to film another movie for a while. Still, if Universal wants another film, there’s certainly another dinosaur story to be found from any number of Hollywood screenwriters.

Check out Jurassic World on VOD platforms like Prime Video and Fandango at Home in America and stay tuned to Collider for more streaming updates.
